brammy777 Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Had a good day spotting today, interestingly it seems that Google have begun replacing all the streetview images as well. I had seen an SD1 briefly passing Catford earlier, so checked out some of the roads parallel on my computer when I got home, only to discover a MKI Sierra there, with an image dated May 2012. Definitely worth more investigation...
wuvvum Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Does having a screen cam or whatever they are called exempt you from driving carefully? What ever the filming vehicle was, it should've been able to stop when that lorry pulled across its path Not if it was a 40-tonne artic it wouldn't. It looked like it was going at a fair old lick, but if you listen to the video you can hear he hits the brakes as soon as it becomes clear the tipper driver is going to just drive across.

Guest Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Got my Tamiya Hornet working after years of being borked. Daughter has shown a sliver of interest in it so that's my excuse for hitting the nearest supermarket car park and scaring some cats! Fuck yeah! Can I bring my FF 01 Clio \ FF 02 306 down for a run? Need a spare controller?
ashmicro Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Some of you may remember me posting on the G.O.M. thread about Santander totally fucking up some ISA's that Kate and I took out about a year ago. They initially "lost" our money in their system, and then issued Kate's certificates with her first name and my Surname. Anyway, it's finally all sorted out (actually it was a few weeks ago now), but this arrived today for me, and Kate got one as well! NOMS!
autofive Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 rooting about in the deepest depths of my shed (shed no3) while looking for a very small bit of plastic i found a cortina rear brake fitting kit (i was just about to buy one), a set of cortina Ghia centre caps, a box of gedore spanners and sockets and a wheel bearing for a super minx
willswitchengage Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 NOMS! No-wonder the Spanish banks are bankrupting themselves! Maybe my father can ask for the same the next time they randomly cancel his bank account meaning they (parents) get the electricity and internet shut off as he stops "paying" the bill
rml2345 Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 ^^^We used to order those for customers quite a lot due to various Santander based fuckupery. Most just wanted money though...
cms206 Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Golf owner in scared of catching something at Halfrauds shocker...
RedSparrow Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 I know it's not the end of the world but inconsiderate parking always pisses me off!
trigger Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 If i still had my old Isuzu works truck i would have parked between the two, and believe me i used to with great pleasure, the more expensive the car the closer I'd park!
Angrydicky Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 ^^^ Is that in Brentwood? One of the few remaining petrol stations selling leaded 4-star if I remember rightly!
oldford Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 I had a chuckle at the rear lights of a Ford Fusion that I MOT'd today: I was amazed that they could get so much water in them and still work.
trigger Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 ^^^ Is that in Brentwood? One of the few remaining petrol stations selling leaded 4-star if I remember rightly! I believe so, a friend tagged me in the photo on facebook. Oldford - I saw you at work today as i drove past in the Cortina about 12.15pm, you may have heard my air horns going off...
outlaw118 Posted July 20, 2012 Author Posted July 20, 2012 Yep Triggs is up near Shenfield station; i've driven by literally 100's of times, and meant to take a photo....just never got round to it.
vulgalour Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Dead chuffed I removed all the soft furnishings out of the Polo yesterday because today I've had to mop a couple of pints of rainwater out of him. Talk about lucky!
DSdriver Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 I had a chuckle at the rear lights of a Ford Fusion that I MOT'd today... What did you put on the advisory? suggest you drill drain holes?
ashmicro Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 C Max's are murder for that too, as well as a swimming pool in the spare wheel well.
Mr H Sceptre Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Totally agree Billy. They have both been absolutely superb, & yesterday when Wiggins lead out Cav for the stage win was class.
Negative Creep Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 8 Caburys Cream Eggs for a pound!!!!! Yeah, life is kindof cool sometimes
M'coli Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Wiggins and Froome.Aye. I've found this year's tour a bit odd, because it's the first we've had "from the inside, looking out" rather than the other way around. It's very odd not cheering on a plucky Brit down in the double-figures area, and hoping that next year they might be top 10; it's also very odd not to have a foreigner as my personal favourite, and also not wanting to see them produce fireworks in the mountains to rip the field apart and trounce the time-triallists*. Brad and Chris, you've done yourselves proud, and I am so happy about it. It's been making me grin for the last couple of evenings, as I never though I'd see a British tour winner in my lifetime! *Strange as it may seem, I used to time-trial - poorly - some 4-5 stones ago...
RoadworkUK Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Just saw a trailer for a film called "Belle Ami". Not really concentrating on the telly, I was looking away when I heard the typical gruff advertising voice saying "Bellamy is sexy and scandalous". Nature documentaries will never be the same again.
