  1. Well, I was in an area of South London I have been to before, and by pure chance, found it. So I pm'd Seth on here, and it got found from there I think. Literally was just parked on some double yellow lines, with barely any damage on the exterior. I was also planning on going somewhere else yesterday, so I am really glad I went where I did!
  2. My MK2 cost me £150 but it was from a friend who was going to scrap it anyway, and it has got an MOT fail sheet with 7 items on it, all pretty much (comparatively) small bits of welding, mechanically it is fine! But yes, part of the reason I agreed to buy it was the bargain price..... Just out of curiosity, the blue Fiesta MK2 you mention SambaS, where is it and how much are they looking for? I am always on the look out for a spares car of some sort.
  3. If that is the Mini I think it is, I saw it driving in Tufnell Park quite a while back, it had a massive dent in the rear end and misfired like mad. So even more crud than first though.
  4. It's not this Espace is it? 1986 Renault Espace 2.0 TSE MPV. by bramm77, on Flickr
  5. I saw that Montego yesterday when coming home from work, about 30 miles from Southampton, near Basingstoke. It certainly gets around, but it is pristine. Glad to see someone has spotted it! I want to see it stationary but it has to be garaged...
  6. I rarely post here now but that is a quality purchase there, and a seriously rare car due to it being a C reg model, I have only seen three of them in something like three years, two of them are as follows: 1986 NISSAN BLUEBIRD T12 1.6 LX SALOON by bramm77, on Flickr Scrapped. 1986 Nissan Bluebird 2.0 SLX Hatchback. by bramm77, on Flickr And this one was exported. So, not that you needed telling how special that car is, but it is probably one of very few C reg T12s left.
  7. Pretty sure I used to see that one every so often as well. My advice is buy it, and then if you get bored with it, sell it to me. But seriously, having ridden in quite a few over the years, they are hardy little things and as lacquer peel said, they don't rot half as bad as other Subarus from the era.

  9. ^ Have this: 1988 Daihatsu Domino 843cc Hatchback. by bramm77, on Flickr There is also a grey one living in Kingston, but they are very rare now. Interesting to think how they pretty much lasted as a design for quite a considerable amount of time. Also, I (and many others) assumed the 3 door Stanza would be extinct here, but I stumbled across one a few months ago: 1982 Datsun Stanza 1.6 SGL Hatchback. by bramm77, on Flickr
  10. I know that car! Spotted it around a year ago in London, it was sold a short while later to an enthusiast who informed me via Flickr. Looked good back then too, glad someone has ditched the awful wheels it had when I saw it. 1985 Nissan Sunny 1.5 Saloon. by bramm77, on Flickr
  11. Had a good day spotting today, interestingly it seems that Google have begun replacing all the streetview images as well. I had seen an SD1 briefly passing Catford earlier, so checked out some of the roads parallel on my computer when I got home, only to discover a MKI Sierra there, with an image dated May 2012. Definitely worth more investigation...
  12. My MKII Fiesta hasn't been driven by me yet so I don't know what the fan is like, but the heater/blower is ridiculously good, I was actually surprised how strongly it works considering how long it must have been, as displayed by the cobwebs blown onto my face when I turned it on for the first time.
  13. Cromas and Regatas are very thin on the ground these days, but in my opinion, the only cars at risk of complete, bonafide extinction are budget ones which fulfil only one purpose, that being cheap, disposable transport, from new. Say 20 years ago, some people would probably have assumed the Proton Lancer hybrids would vanish completely after a decade or so, but the careful owners who bought them in the masses turned that around, but what about the first Kia Mentors? Or the first Hyundai Sonatas? They sold virtually none anyway, and even now, are worth less than zero. No one has ever spotted a Lonsdale however! Also, didn't a Penza come up on eBay a few years back? Would be an apt car for me, my initials are SAO!
  14. Seen that Sierra before, it's local to me! 1986 Ford Sierra 1.8 LX Hatchback. by bramm77, on Flickr The owner was ANCIENT, seriously he must have been over 90 at least. Glad it's still around, let's hope the next owner looks after it too. Had no idea the mileage was so low!
  15. I think its a US model Accord as they actually had pop up lights, as opposed to the 'regular' fronted ones we got over here, such a weird mish mash in the range at the time, with the Prelude, Integra and Accord Aerodeck all getting pop ups, and the Accord, despite having them in several markets, didn't get them here.
  16. Blimey, I didn't realise the IoW was so good for tat, my older brother lives there, I need to go and visit him sometime and grab some photos whilst I'm there I guess! Also, I think the Maestro may be ex AA instead of BT, because of the Reading issued numberplate and the H plate, they would have repainted it grey I reckon. Still a very good spot though.
  17. Sure thing! Its a 1989 1.1 L, 67k, registered right at the end of MKII sales, in that red/burgundy shade. Has no MOT or TAX, but is on SORN and it was owned by my best friend before they decided they wanted to sell it, as it was quoted £600 for welding...by a Ford main dealers MOT department apparently. Having had a look at it, yes there is rust, and there is two areas underneath which are a teeny bit crunchy, but there isn't any holes and it's nothing major. Nearside rear arch, like I mentioned, is rotten in two places, but the first half of the arch is solid, nice one. Boot is fine under the rear window, and the exhaust needs to be mounted properly. That's it. And it cost me scrap value... or a little bit less. And I have storage. And it runs fine. And everything works. I will post photos when I next see it, which will hopefully be Wednesday!

  19. Christ that Fiesta 'resto' looks awful! I am on a budget too, time to empty all the cereal boxes out and use that as repair for the nearside rear arch. Also have some Swallows nesting on our roof, better make use of their nest when they are done too. Oh yeah, by the way, I bought a MKII...

  21. That Montrose is surprisingly solid when in full view, and the tyres aren't flat?! Thats a bit surprising really. The Belmont is also a good spot, they have thinned out really quickly recently. MK2 Escort wouldn't happen to be blue would it? I remember going to Queens Park and seeing it from a distance, driving off.
  22. I don't want to alarm anyone but that MKI Sierra looking rather abandoned is a 1.3 Base model.... And it's still on SORN. Grey grille, without a doubt. Also, that Ambassador is unreal! According to streetview, there was a similar looking one in Reading up until 2 or so years ago, long gone now though. Great spots so far.

  24. SCB are real, they contacted me the other day regarding the same thing, and I spoke to a few different people down the phone, they ultimately decided against using me for their marketing because my Flickr is too 'old car centric' and they wanted stuff which was more related to new cars. I think they would have realised that had they actually, you know, looked at my Flickr beforehand? Oh and to level that out, going to Alton today and seeing a utterly knackered looking Rover 800 on a G reg being driven around by an OAP made my day.
