Well that's the 13 hour shift done for another year. Thank fuck.

Do you get an 11 hour shift in the spring

Round the back of Halfords in Hereford there used to be a rail overbridge with a 6' height restriction and a 6'6" width restriction.  I used to work at Shark Motorcycles just by it and had to duck to walk under it.  They removed the bridge deck about 10 years ago but the supporting walls are still there.  I wouldn't try driving a van bigger than a Berlingo through.

A nice shortcut to avoid the queues at the roundabout next to the football pitch on a Saturday!

Looking through my late Aunt and uncle's old slides I found a photo of their first VW Camper.

They went all over in this, even took it to Scandinavia at one point.

Think the ferry was a day and a half to get there if I recall correctly.

Be worth an absolute fortune today.

Check out the VW number plate,it came with it,when this got sold on in the mid 70's it was being used as a work van,the interior had been stripped.

I think he got £50 for it,mainly because of the number plate, the van was considered worthless.

How times have changed.

We do. We get 12 hours pay for that and 12 for the 13 hour.

I suppose it balances out but I bet that 13th hour drags

It's a bit demoralising, you do till 2 then they add an hour 😆

We've got a power cut. Luckily I"d bought a large leisure battery this morning to use in the shed/photographic darkroom. Quick trip down the garden to fetch in the house... All set for the night now.

They didn't play one 😡

Was good to be back at gigs though! Despite dad's car refusing to change lanes on the a40 when I needed it. Found the button to turn that particular gadget off

Rootling around in the bedroom cupboard I found my old phone which threw a hissy fit 2+ years ago, turning itself on and off constantly and finally refusing to turn on at all.I thought I'd give it one last try, plugged in charger, waited 15 mins and pressed the button. And bugger me it turned on and stayed on long enough for me to blueteeth over the 131 long lost photos on it.Including this one of my then farm fresh £100 Escort van complete with 3/4 of a tank of red and holes in the sills you could stick your arm in.🤣.20160511_161632.thumb.jpg.f00df4bdfe74966779820ce882747149.jpg

Rufford ford is the gift that keeps on giving.  In the latest video some twat manages to kill a Range Rover Velar...

(There's also a fantastic sounding Defender towards the end.)

about ten years ago I went to some extended families 60th wedding anniversary at a working mens club one sunday afternoon, I'd never been there before, but everything seemed very familiar and I couldn't put my finger on it until I realised I was stood in the fucking Pennine suite! It made my week.

I expected more YOLO’s than that. It appears to be a spectator sport with different techniques being adapted. Imagine a MK1 Ka attempting that… at the other end it would need to be identified by dental records i.e. VIN plate 😆

I just don't get it , are modern drivers so far removed from the mechanical processes involved in a car they think they can do anything

I'll never forget the guy in the new range rover coming over the Pennines east to west on the M62 in heavy snow

One lane open , everyone crawling , other two covered in snow , he comes past doing 30 with a , 'this cost 100k it better do this'attitude

Can't escape physics though as he found out when he touched the brakes and went spinning , amazingly he hit nothing and rejoined us in the queue

A bit further down I watched a guy in a sprinter van towing a trailer come off at the saddleworth turn, the slip road was a foot deep in snow , with my WTF face on I saw his trailer jack knife ½ way down it

Sadly I think it is a case of drivers being so far removed. They’re more interested in their image than the bald tyres on their 2 tonne Chelsea tractor!
