Why haven't I had a desktop pc at home for years?  It's a revelation.  I can type lots of text without wanting to throw it across the room/kill someone/end it all.  Gr9

How amusing that members of the public (not MP's themselves) are complaining that an election on 12th December is going to "disrupt their Christmas".

What, 2 minutes putting an X in a box?

Tits.

And actually they interviewed a woman in the street, who said "I don't have time for that" ah but you had time to pick up your methadone prescription love.

Received this in the post in just 2 weeks from China.

Can't wait to build it later.

This is what our house looked like as of about 15 minutes ago...

We see quite a few trick or treaters here so tend to put on a show.

Plus it's an excuse to dig out interesting stuff from the lighting stash...even though that didn't happen quite so much this year as the prep was basically the last hour of scrambling around like a madman seeing what bits and pieces I could cobble together at the last minute.

I think we might have enough fog in the Atrium...

Looking down out of the upstairs windows towards the ground...

Likewise from the other bedroom...

...And a peek round the side of the house.

The low light performance of the camera in this phone still surprises me.

Hooray! I no have to look at Brexit adverts whenever I go on gov.uk to check an ebay car's MOT history (have a look - it's gone!). There's still the massive billboard in town though that tells me about what a superb job the Government is doing buying back the 20,000 police officers it made redundant a few years ago.

I took Charlie out earlier and some of the houses have gone nuts, it's great!

Bonus for me is he can't have chocolate (milk allergy) so he gave all that to daddy!

Eva's still out, she went with her friends and the mummy's from school, I knew Charlie would only have 45 minutes in him

This is what greets anyone arriving here when the door opens, looming out of the fog (which billows out the door once opened).

Despite the fact that we're getting a reputation for putting on a good show here now, the reactions are still great.

We've got normal sweets, Halal sweets for those who have that sort of requirement, and small toys for those with food allergies etc.  We try to make sure there's something for everyone.

Think we're up to nearly sixty visitors by this point, though we'll be calling time on it pretty soon.

On the drive home from work today I was passed by a brown and beige Freight Rover. I was doing 65mph and it passed me at a not inconsiderable pace/volume. Some kind soul on Flickr has previously papped it 5 years ago so you can also experience the joy.

Mere minutes later I was passed by an immaculate Mk2 Polo hatch, complete on it's steel wheels and hubcaps. Today was a good day.

If they come downstairs and catch you with empty wrappers and hamster cheeks they won't be happy :D

Apparently Zelandeth lives in an early 90s American made-for-TV movie.

(That's a compliment, btw)

Well the house was commissioned by the BBC and two of the family are American, so you're probably not that far off the mark...

the thing that gets me most curious is that

is the Ladas number plate flourcesing under the UV-A from the presumably 400W Woods glass mercury lamp or is it just the reflections?

cant say I have ever thought about number plates being fluorescent before!

(as per last year, seriously awesome display :) its a shame TPA could not be apart of it! esp if you got ahold of some decrepit wheel chair of some kind :) )

as it's getting a bit cold these days, its probably time to get those winter tyres fitted that I've had stashed in the shed since august.

IMG_0961.thumb.JPG.903d26fe9bc92f7e1a7d59bf276f1c0f.JPG

but looking closely, I noticed half a rusty screw stuck in one of them

IMG_0962.thumb.JPG.2750795acb3378ef65b783639dd41ea3.JPG

should be an easy fix, I dropped them off at a local recommended fitter and went for a walk

and spotted a local man walking his pet HORSE

got the puncture fixed and the tyres fitted, should be a nice mild winter now I'm prepared for it

The streetlight is pretty much directly behind where I was standing when I took that photo, so probably just the reflection you're seeing.

Had hoped to get the van kitted out with lighting this year too but just ran out of time.  Lada had an MA90 chucked on the front seats which looked pretty good.  No idea where the 3' fitting I usually use out there has got to...

Had a bit of a mad scramble because I couldn't find the bloody lamp for the UV flood out front until I realised I'd already dug that out and it was sitting on the damned pool table.

Next year we'll try to be more organised, Halloween really snuck up on us this year for some reason.  Hopefully my own costume will be closer to finished then too so I can join in scaring the hell out of the trick or treaters.  They really don't expect the door to be opened by someone who is also in costume.

Do kind of wonder who I'm kidding though.  Poor thing is probably never going to get finished... he's no closer to done now than this time three years ago.  Chris and Darren went down the sensible route really in commissioning theirs, but I'm far enough into this project now that that's really not an option so I need to see it through myself...which probably means like so many projects of mine, this one will be doomed to end up gathering dust at the back of the loft, half finished.

How can it take an hour and 20 minutes to fly from Glasgow to Birmingham?  Is the plane a Wright Flyer or something?

Flight time is 50 minutes. Fucking about on the tarmac takes the extra half hour.
