Got the Roffle Rover in for an mot this morning (my local, friendly tester actually opened up on a Sunday morning to fit me in) the only failure was a split cv boot and 1 advisory for a power steering leak. New boot ordered so we should have a years ticket on it in a couple of days.  :D

Forgot about his until now, on Friday I passed an actual Astramax van, E reg, parked in the entrance to a piece of waste ground, multicoloured panels with the owner flytipping out the back.

Don't agree with the flytipping but but the scene was totally 1997.

Well he's fucked that up - the idea of flytipping in 1997 in a knackered Astramax is that you were completely invisible out on the road.

2016? Ring the police, "Yeah I've seen a multicoloured Astramax flytipping"

"Oh, that'll be Dave the Builder down on the high street. We'll go and have a word"

You need to be using a rusty Sprinter really.

Meh, no need to white knight, this is in the grin not the grumpy thread after all.  It's more the fact someone would tell me in the same breath to scrap my shed and to carry on with the project.

The UK's number one selling single namechecking Rover repeatedly in the chorus...

"Oh Baby pull me closer/On the back seat of your Rover". Lyrical geniuses clearly :-P

With proof from the video at 50ish seconds.... https://youtube.com/PT2_F-1esPk?t=50s

Don't care if they really mean Range or Land....

I know my punctuation leaves a lot to be desired but he is a knobhead so can not construct a sentence! Carry on doing what you are doing and see if it annoys him even more!

Golly. It's a big leap from "I don't particularly share your enthusiasm for the style of your car" to "it must be destroyed by the authorities."

And so many internal conflicts and self-contradictions in one outburst: there's a whole psychology textbook right there. Ah, the joys of one-model owners' clubs.

I want the same sort of thing but for a tape player! They seem to be not made though

What, those? They are made, but too pricey.

No need to white knight indeed but I would like to say my piece and take the piss out of him slightly 'cos the insurance companies are making me want to kill.

Decided to run the Pug 206sw of much cheapness in for a MOT to see if was worth fixing or just scrap it. It only went and passed with no advisories and the tester commented its in really good nick underneath! I might get the aircon leak tested know and see if thats fixable as the it always seems stuffy inside with poor airflow through the vents.

Pollen filter is probably clogged if there's poor air flow

Been doing loads of overtimes juggling extra cheese boards and incendiary cactuses (or whatever I do for a living) for over a year trying to get the money to buy the derelict shed with land, water,  more spare sheds, orange trees etc. in the foreign sun, got the agents to sort the paperwork after finding a load of errors then put in 3 offers in 18 months and all rejected, now got the full asking price and booked to go BUT some tit of an agent has taken someone else's cash and given them my paperwork.

Ooooo  look there's a structurally sound stone built windmill for less money and a short moped ride from where they hold the surfing championships.

^Not a like for being pissed about, but a like for the windmill (although I'd hate the stairs)

On Saturday I went to Deal to a bus rally celebrating the old East Kent bus company, whilst rummaging through the vast amounts of photo's that certain stall holders have I came across a photo of a pick up that I used to own. I felt rather pleased with myself and parted with 50 whole pence---

Pictured at Deal bus garage in the mid 1950s.

I was back at work today after a week off (depressing). So I thought I'd take the Panda for a spin to cheer me up. What a laugh it is and on skinny Fiat 500 wheels too. I don't think i went over 60 once either. It just rev's so freely you think you're going really fast then you look at the speedo and you're doing 42mph. Also it was a nice sun set over Arran.

Was going to cost £470 to insure the Civic, chucked the whole fleet's details into Admiral Multicar and have insured all three for £740! Also they're all together so I don't have the hassle of trying to remember what is insured, with whom and when it runs out.

Thats £370 for the Civic, £200 for the 1850HL and £170 for the 1300! Just got to stay out of trouble now as I hear Admiral are shite if you actually need to claim...

Show me an insurance company that isn't. Not Crashing is always a good plan though.
