Sort of car related. Has anyone else seen the Range Rover in the new Churchill advert?

But did you notice the crafty "Penis Rover" number plate?

I was watching Keeping Up Appearances on one of the freeview channels last night, and in one episode the sisters decided (actually I think Hyacinth did) to take Daddy out for a picnic.

Yes, it's this one...

I hadn't seen this one before!  A whole chase with the Rover and Cortina, during Mary Millar's tenure as Rose (always liked her version).  Top Autoshite telly!

Not seen this mentioned anywhere on here, but I seem to have recorded "All Aboard: The Country Bus" off BBC4 a few nights back.

It's been playing for ten minutes and there's been zero talking, just camera mounted on what appears to be a single decker Optare, driving through the Yorkshire Dales, panning around to see the scenery with the odd fact popping up on screen here and there.

Bascially, 2 hours of landscape porn. It'll be on iPlayer for a bit.

Edit: Half an hour in and there's some talking when the driver stops and takes a fare. "£1.50 please love" is about the extent of it. You can also hear the indicator bleeper. And now it's back to silent countryside.

saw this hero earlier on the way to pick up my cylinder head, just look where the trolley jack is, I think he'd have a headache after an accident

Carry on caravaning on channel 5, just caught it after flicking through. No idea if it's a one off or series but it's full of utterly tragic people, sad but strangely funny at the same time. The fat guy trying to do a YouTube video on bog paper while his other half sorts the awning in the rain was surreal. Proper old school car crash TV.

Didn't the boss of Renault in the 50's or 60's get killed by a simularly placed briefcase hitting him on the head?.Maybe this is some sort of tribute?

The mother told me she'd been watching that, she got bored after about ten minutes.

I'll have to give it a watch.

I think a trolley Jack to the back of the head would be preferable to having to drive a Scenic.

Is it sad that while watching never say never again on itv4 I've just spotted a BTH210 120hp trolleybus motor in the background?

There's a fair bit of quality chod in obscure old bongo films - I saw one the other week in which one of the female protagonists turned up in a white LHD SD1 - I think it was on German plates.

Just sat in the local tyre place getting them to fit my supplied tyres.

The bloke on the desk is talking sooooo much shit to people it's outrageous lol proper bollocks spilling out his arse.

Anyone catch the new Jay Leno show in the week?

I only caught 10 mins of it and was all about the Great Era of American Muscle Cars.

He paid a visit to his friend Tim Allen for a chat, but the cameraman always managed to keep this little beauty in the background of most of his shots...

I picked up a copy of it too and loved the test they had between the 740 & Mk3 Granada. The next issue with the Sierra, Cavalier and Montego face off looks like it will be good too.

A couple of Mondays ago, I bought myself a P reg V70 2.5 turbo.

So far, I've replaced the rear pads and front pads and discs. When starting from cold, it fired up immediately, but after a while the revs would drop like it was going to stall.

So today, I attacked it. Fitted a set of plugs, cleaned out the idle control valve and throttle body.

Put it all back together, it hesitated at first, then fired up. Idled at just over a thousand revs, then as it warmed, it settled back to about nine hundred. Spot on. No more fluctuating idle. Ran it for ages and the tickover speed stayed constant.

I'll consider that job jobbed.

Very satisfying. Big grin factor.

More jobs tomorrow.

Did a speed awareness course this afternoon.

Aside from some batshit people attending it, it was quite interesting. A bit long at 4 hours.

Couldn't they have done it any faster?

Forgot about his until now, on Friday I passed an actual Astramax van, E reg, parked in the entrance to a piece of waste ground, multicoloured panels with the owner flytipping out the back.

Don't agree with the flytipping but but the scene was totally 1997.

Got the Roffle Rover in for an mot this morning (my local, friendly tester actually opened up on a Sunday morning to fit me in) the only failure was a split cv boot and 1 advisory for a power steering leak. New boot ordered so we should have a years ticket on it in a couple of days.  :D

Well he's fucked that up - the idea of flytipping in 1997 in a knackered Astramax is that you were completely invisible out on the road.

2016? Ring the police, "Yeah I've seen a multicoloured Astramax flytipping"

"Oh, that'll be Dave the Builder down on the high street. We'll go and have a word"

You need to be using a rusty Sprinter really.
