That is tragic and hilarious at the same time.  I can't work out if I am watching a genuine documentary or something along the lines of Alan Partridge! 

I suppose at least back then middle management types actually went for something a bit different sometimes rather than all driving identical Audis, but whining like a spoilt kid because your car doesn't have a small single-letter badge where everyone might see it?  Give me strength!

It’s a genuine documentary , called From A to B : Tales of Modern Motoring.

There was a company car episode, one about younger drivers, one about families, one about women etc.

The algorithm found me a little gem yesterday: user DaveSpencer32. You might have heard of him as PMP Transport Films; he's been filming mostly buses and trucks all over the world for years and has uploaded some of his archive footage from the 1990s. At the time these were just ordinary everyday street scenes and people probably thought he was mad for wasting tape on such mundane things, but every vehicle you see is interesting now.

I wish all the subsequent episodes were available. It's everything I want in tv: 80s, cars, bad script, industrial unrest, drawing boards. 

My favourite characters are the blaxpoitation (Northern stereotype) couple from Leeds.

I discovered Jeffrey a while back and totally agree; it's wonderful that an American is so enthusiastic about obscure British buses that even a lot of Brits haven't heard of. What was especially weird was his video on Quest 80 quoting one of my old blog posts - it's bizarre hearing the words I wrote being read in a Noo Joisy accent.

That's great! Did he credit you with it?

On that subject, and it just popped in to my head, do you know why Guy Motors used an Indian chief as their logo/mascot? He mentioned it but couldn't find out why?
