I scored a pretend Go-Pro today so you can expect lots of shit like this.

Don't watch it, even by the standards of dashcam footage it's dull apart from a slightly interesting moment at 1:19. I'm going to Skye and Raasay for the weekend so I should manage something a bit more scenic.

My non starting C15 is beginning to look a bit sad, I must get round to doing something with it.

Fu'Gutty cars has broken the 10,000 views barrier this week- going from 9k to 10.6k in 3 days!

Cheers one and all:)

Congrats! I'm still a few hundred short of 40,000 views on YouTube, so I'd better sit back with a brew and wait.

That was earlier today, near Bewdley, where I decided PYO Strawbs were more fun that dealing with mongs on the road. I've clocked up over 200 miles in the XM today, with only a very short stretch on anything approaching a fast road - the A448 Bromsgrove to Redditch. I had to drive a Porsche 911 with no clutch, and saw a car on its roof on my way home. I'm not sure how they'd managed it, but the emergency services seemed to have everything under control. That was on the very pretty, very entertaining route that Catsinthewelder will know - Knighton to Pen-y-Bont. A fabulous road. If you don't f*ck it up.

I came back that way on Sunday and enjoyed myself very much :D

Thank god you are a reasonable distance away or Ruffgeezer's Patented C15 Craporbeamtm would have surely gobbled it up now and attached it to whatever space it could find.

Just been playing suitcase Jenga.

Got to get 6 of us with 6 suitcases to Gatwick by 06.00 tomorrow. Thought I might have to tie a couple of cases onto the factory ( Montego ? ) roof bars. But I think we can just about get away with it. Definitely have to have one on the roof on the way back - 5 women $1.50 to the pound, there's going to be shopping.

Phedra is a Fiat Ulysse/Cit C8 but fuglier isn't it??

(beware: ranting below)

It seems like cars are all my parents care about... Old Man keeps looking up different cars on the internet - spurred on by this the mother and I have decided we want him to get a better car as we want him to have something he actually cares about and isn't just bodging to keep it going, despite claims that he 'enjoys' it.

Trying to get him a decent* car (ie not another tatty fifteen year old Honda that he'll cut the rust out of with a dremel, then stick a foot and a half of fibreglass into the sill of because he doesn't have any interest in welding) is impossible. Especiallly with his mileage and colour gripes. He's one of those silly people that thinks OMG FSH 60K means a car is good. He bought his current Civic on those terms, when actually it's full of car park dents and scratches, has wheels off a Bini "temporarily" as it needs new tyres, the bumper is a bit melted, needs a new numberplate, the door seal is held on with Superglue, it smells a bit odd inside and it's generally very very average, if it wasn't a 50k Civic I don't think he'd even have bought the damn thing.

He keeps looking at cars that are impossible to get hold of with low mileage and/or under £2k:

Corolla T-Sport (and he wants a facelift one? dream on)

Leon 20VT Cupra (early ones)

Octavia 1.8T (nearest available Anglesey)

overpriced 98-02 Accords (they're shit and he won't listen)

Civic VTis (they're all fucked, besides VTEC tax)

I suggest reasonable cars to him (Civic Type S, Avensis 2.0, Saab 9-3 turbo) and he passes them off on silly details like width or colour or 'it's not a facelift model'. Acts snobbishly towards Ford and Vauxhall, keeps going back to VAG and sodding Accords (there's going to be a 'no Hondas' rule as he's had 3 now).

Ugh.

Best of luck.

I've just put a deposit on a one owner, 80k, FSH Octavia 1.8T estate with solid sills and no rust for £2k. I've had a weather eye out for one for about 18 months and this is the first that's come up that wasn't massively high mileage, rusty, overpriced or comprehensively pineappled. It's only just popped up in a small garage, and I think it's not more because it's an odd greeny-grey colour, it's not the new shape, it's oddly specced and it's miles from anywhere. Otherwise they just don't seem to exist at this price.

Civic VTIs or Leon 20VT Cupra just won't happen. The boy racers will snap up any good examples, and all that's left will be ragged out shitboxes. A mate was looking for one and ended up upping his budget to £3.5k.

I pointed my brother at a Saab 9-3 turbo. He found a decent diesel one around £2k. Spent about another £500 repairing a water leak, and now it's a reliable quick economical daily.

Jagwahr fixxorated, and well, I have to say. The other party's insurers phoned me to see if I wanted a car while mine was being fixed, and were otherwise very helpful.

Good job matching the 10 year old paint. As surmised by some members on here, It needed a couple of bumper brackets and a new bar, but the most impressive thing was that the shop fixed the bumper where two of the wee bolt heads from the bar had pimpled the surface (I didn't spot it myself, until it was pointed out).

An added bonus was that the bumper had a long scrape in it when I got the car. Now gone.

The lease ended on this today:

2015-06-12%2009.21.28_zpscszohu0k.jpg

It's not had a single fault in 3 years, but wasn't the least bit engaging to drive and was dog-slow with the 1.6HDI motor.  The 2003 Berlingo it was supposed to replace is still here... that's much more fun to chuck around and we don't have to worry about the paintwork or mileage.

For less than the cost of 2 payments on the above, I've acquired this:

His name is Roger and I've just bought a large pack of Q-Bond to glue him back together.  He's going to be beautiful.

He obviously needs an old Turbo Bentley.

Mrs Trigger was chatting to a fellow dog walker a few months back about a Y reg Cortina that used to belong to their mum which is in a council lock up near me, well today the lady came up to Hannah with her number and said that the car needs to go in the next 4 weeks as they are getting rid of the garage and would i be interested in having the car?!. Clearly the answer was yes but annoyingly she forgot to write down her full number! Hannah's going back over there tomorrow to track her back down for me!

TRIGGER UNLOCKED A NEW ACHIEVEMENT:  Shite Sinkhole

Today being quite warm I thought it would be nice to have the blowers working in the Xantia.  Citroen says no.  Fine I'll put the aircon I don't like on.  Citroen says no.  Fine, I'll open the windows.  Get home and the aircon and blowers spring to life just as I'm about to turn the engine off.  Typical.  Never had these problems with the Princess.

Required exhaust welding up and rear handbrake adjusting. Will also need new set of tyres asap.

Most pleased. Was expecting bill of over £150.

I can safely say that I don't know what all the BMW model codes refer to, and I'm actually quite happy with that. It's a bit like when I mention to my colleagues at work that I have never watched star wars.

Here you go, all 6 episodes at once
