Must be MOT day for AS today.

Mrs SiC car passed too. It better bloody well considering it's only 8yrs old 🙃

Also she picked up her car and paid the bill. First time I think she's paid a car maintenance bill in a decade...

Mini adventure on the way to work. Parked up in Ogbourne st George and loaded some quickly gathered stiff into a big backpack. It had been a lovely day though i questioned my wisdom as i left the comfy bed in the van behind and ventured into the dark. Had left far too late in the day. With the knowledge that if i listened to my ney thoughts id of missed out on soo much over the years I trekked up the Ridgeway to hopefully find a spot I had previously great for a camp.

Very close to a full moon helped navigation with no torch. I also prefer this as you see and notice so much more with the added bonus of not advertising your presence.

Much glee when I found the spot as being not guided by hunches and a look at a map left at home I was never certain I was going the right way.

Still a nice view at night. Saw shooting stars , listened to owls hooting.

This pic found some light that wasn't there. The moon was bright as you can see from the shadows though my camera is a bit broken.

Woke to the sound of rain on canvas which enabled a bit more sleep. The need for the facilities had me up an hour later where i got to enjoy no view whilst eating porridge.

Chatted with a couple on there second day walking the Ridgeway and vowed to do the same.  Went to work with the knowledge ill be back.

It seems like it does quite a lot without breaking the bank.

End of an era - Peckham Spares now closed - Halfords gone on the Old Kent Road as well.

But I love it!

One still exists! Dibs!

Which engine? One of my friends might have some spares left... (nvm, I saw later 1.7 diesel - 1.6 alternator and radiator stashed and never used!)

Ditto!
Seen Mr Smith on the road almost every time I've been on a long journey, that insight used to get everywhere. Also ended up at mallory park at the same time he was filming the sierra cosworth piece with Tiff, was a bit busy getting @Kringle's vee to go a few seconds faster though rather than nosing at the car.

I don't think it got quite as much notice/publicity as their other live gigs and I'm not sure what the capacity was like given the venue.

Does sound like a decent sum was raised for Mission Motorsport though so alls well that ends well.

GBCJ could be a good location for a Midlands meet.

Faaarkin' ell! Where's Delboy gonna get spares for 'is vaaaayn?

Seriously, sad times. The problem seems to be a mixture of motorists that don't know/care about their own cars' maintenance, small independent garages going directly to dealerships or bigger spares places like Car Spares/ECP.

Halfords seem to stock mainly cheap stick-on tat, bikes, after market car stereos, dash cams, cheap horrible Bosch wipers and in smaller aisles, actual stuff that keeps your car healthy, like oil/brake fluid, brake pads etc...

On the subject of useless utility companies...

Yesterday, 18:17 I got a text from South East Water saying they were aware of an issue with water supply in our area. Ran cold tap, all seemed fine.

18:32 Received a text from SEW saying a team had arrived on scene and are assessing the situation

19:20 Wife tries to draw cold water to cook veg for tea, no water. Muggins gets sent to local shop for a big bottle of water for, at least, tea and coffee. Said shop has almost sold out, a pack of 8 small bottles is bought for £2.75, passing said team and a small patch of wet road on the way there and back.

19:45 While wife is dishing up I try cold tap to find it flowing at full pressure.

20:32 SEW text to say problem resolved.

I don't think we can complain about that.

I don’t think Del Boy would have maintained the  van in any way, so probably wouldn’t have frequented the parts shop. I don’t remember any episode titled .“Del gives the van a 6000 mile service”. MOTs we’re probably fake too from some dodgy geezer in the Nags Head.

Are you being serious?

Ok, I'll play. You must have missed that episode then. He popped to that shop to buy some wob (and to sell some car accessories that dropped off the back of a lorry).

I can picture where you pitched up. Nice spot, and decent views when the clag isn't so low.

Very glad thats being restored, especially since the St James Business centre has just been demolished. It was the last remaining part of the factory.
