She got lots of positive comments,one guy even said it was his favourite car of the show,and there was some nice stuff there!😯

Exhaust started to blow on the way back,and she puffed out quite a cloud of smoke at one stage,so those will need investigating.

Overall I was quite pleased with it,cruised happily at 70 on the motorway,struggled a wee bit on inclines though,she is quite a heavy old girl.😁

Scary results from Tame Mechanic's code reader point to ECU issue.  Checking cheaper possibilities first, strapped on big charger to eliminate tired battery as problem.  Still won't fire.

What code and what age + engine + ECU?

Some stuff like the 1.6HDI can cheaply take a second hand ECU with "immo off. i.e. reflashed to not have an immobiliser and to be plug + play. Even if not a permanent solution, it could be a way to eliminate an ECU fault if checked everything else.

Yesterday evening I jumped in the Getz and drove down in the pissing rain to just outside London.  The reason for the 5 1/2 hour round trip was that I'd bought this.

It's a folding electric scooter, and yes it is road legal.  It's on a 64 plate, Chinese made (natch) and has a 1hp electric motor in the rear wheel hub and a 36v lithium ion battery under the footboard.  It has a partial twistgrip throttle like the shifter on a cheap mountain bike, an on/off LED headlight (no sidelight or main beam), indicators in the ends of the bars, cable disc brakes and a surprisingly loud horn.  The seat / luggage rack assembly unclips with a simple spring clip and lifts off (once you've unplugged the wire to the rear light) and then the handlebars fold down flush with the footboard.

So what's it like to ride?  Absolutely fucking terrifying.  It takes off like a scalded cat and will wheelie if you don't have your weight far enough forward.  The wheels are tiny, there's lots of play due to the folding nature of the beast, it's slow (23mph flat out on the flat) and it weighs bugger all so bounces around all over the place.  I bloody love it.

There is a reason I bought it (apart from the fact that it's hilarious fun): when I dump a car at the station when I'm heading off on a collection mission, when I get home I can then hop on this and ride to the station to pick the car up - quicker than cycling and better than relying on the sparse bus service around here.  It'll get from here to Norwich on a charge although it'll take a while and I'm sure it'll be fun* being overtaken by Farmer Giles in his John Deere and silage trailer.

Here it is in the boot of the Toyota.  It'll fit in the Getz fine but only with the rear seats folded down.

Screams check earths and power feeds to me. Especially directly at the ECU connector.

This sounds like a lot of things, but the P codes? Generic reader or actual Lexia? 
Genereics hate talking to this age diesel, lexia give more ‘understandable’ results in my experience

What brand is it? I didn't realise road registered e scooters were a thing.

Once had an issue with a Peugeot Partner turning over but not starting. 

Turned out the issue was the casing for the flip key had broken causing all the innards to fall out of line. Put it back together and it started!  

Very unlikely to be the case with yours, but no harm in checking or trying to start it with a spare key if you have one. You never know!

Wow. What Latitude are you on there? We in the UK are expected to have another storm this week with lots of wind/rain.

I have no idea about latitude, but I am about 60km inland and 173 meters above sea level in southern Norway.

And I usually get the first snowfall around 1 November here, so this is nothing unusual, but it varies from winter to winter.

Edit, if the map in the link is correct, I am roughly in the middle between latitude 57N and 60N.

London, where I am this morning, is 2,660 miles S. of the North Pole - on Latitude 51.50°N.

If you are at 60°N. you are about 560 miles north of us here.

Shows the difference the Atlantic makes to our weather.

We are also virtually at sea level of course.

Bergen and Oslo are at around 60 N , similar to the Shetlands.
