I know it's still an absolute tip, but it was *really* bad before.

The amount of shite I swept off the floor is astounding, especially since we only really did a quarter of it.

id love a place just too look at my crap and polish my tools.

I thought the guide tube would give it away to an eagle-eyed person :)

Correct marque, but it's actually a C3 Picasso, 1.6 HDi.

Goes to show they've been using the same setup for years

The Picasso decided to be French this evening

Thought I'd pop out to install its battery that I've been meaning to refit after charging it up a couple of weeks ago.

It was not happy, started it up and it was running on 2 or 3

*Beep beep* "engine faulty" and the EML duly illuminated

Of course, being French it fixed itself 30 seconds later, left it running for 20 minutes and then it was fine all that time 🤷

Probably down to the cold, and the fact I've left it there for a few months but it shouldn't misfire like that 🤔

Used the Jeep to get to work today as I’m in the workshop all week and will probably use it tomorrow 35 mile round trip today is the most it’s driven for over a year. Had a spare hour so I cleaned the leaves out the scuttle and heater intake so now it doesn’t steam up  inside as much.

even managed 21mpg average!!

I think this road was still a bit icy at 11 o'clock this morning.

IMG_20230117_110548.thumb.jpg.8498cc952be04e03a088de1a82bb6cf5.jpg

It is quite a steep hill out of shot to the left and there was water running down it so I suspect a burst pipe. Still it could have been worse (for everybody else, not for the Prius driver) as the other side of the road is lined with parked cars, which is why I had time to take the photo as I was waiting for traffic to come down the hill. And it's either a very sturdy barrier or the front of a Prius is very bendy.

You want the front of your car to be pretty bendy, to absorb the force of an impact!

I realise that, but that barrier doesn't look like like it's moved at all. I guess it's the angles as well, being end on.

Frozen bastard washers today - so Ive bought one of these to fit into the washer bottle and warm  the washer fluid - WCPGW?

Posted

Isn't the problem in the jets rather than the bottle?  After getting fed up with it in the last cold snap I've got almost neat washer fluid in the Focus rather than my usual 95% water blend.

I'm also getting miffed with moderns having wipers that don't park under a heater vent.

Admittedly it's only a minor problem as they eventually heat up, however, the Jimny has wipers that park near the vent, the blade doesn't freeze and drag ice across the screen.

Also the engine block keeps the washer jets from freezing.

Ultimate mini snow kaos wagon?

I’ve been using my dads Hyundai IX35 the past few days and it has a front wiper de-frost function. Well posh!

Sssssh you. It's been waxed. So it's staying solid for the meantime. But yes, they rust a lot usually.

My 25-year-old Toyota Carina has that feature.

Treated the couriering Caddy to some new boots today.

I've had really good mileage out of these Goodyears on other motors (95k miles), so hoping for the same on the Caddy. The previous Hankooks disappointed, only got just under 45k from them, with a rotation half way through. The Michelins before that were part worns when I got them lasted longer(55k), even the mix of Landsail, Marshall and Dynamo? that were on the van when I got it gave over 30k miles.

After six weeks I finally got the Eunos on the road, using the spare wheels I took off the green car, and reassembling the wingmirrors. It's great. Can't wait to clean it up a bit and see how it comes up.

A bloke up the road has a small fluffy dog called Teddy. When his daughter left home she bought a very similar dog and also called it Teddy. All was well until circumstances changed a couple of years later and she was forced to move back in with her parents.

Bloke now walks two almost identical dogs, both called Teddy!
