I saw them using that stuff on that South Main auto channel on a pickup that has 120 walnuts in the air intake and also had some wires nibbled.

He mentioned the shielding on car wiring is soya based hence why it's so delicious to mice etc.

The BMW went to the dealer for a recall. New drivers airbag required. Apparently there was a manufacturing defect where upon detonation it can embed some nice shrapnel in one's visage.

About 20 different folk milling about. Two lassies on the reception gabbing shite. Various salesmen milling about frantically chewing and clicking pens before their next line in the bogs.

One very helpful lady on the service counter frantically trying to check in a queue of folk with no help, the only bit of the site with any customers.

Anyway, they carried out a "health check" while it was in;

Hmm, rear washer gubbed. Pretty sure it was working. Anyway, what would be the damage;

No thanks squire. Picked it up and checked when I got home. Not sure what my £162 would have been for;

Coffee was small but very pleasant. A good 7.5/10.

Had to get back to work sadly, so couldn't fully avail myself of the facilities.

Good news! Just to let you know your rear wiper is starting to seize (as they all do). There’s a good guide here in stopping and cleaning it up.

I've previously posted these two Saabs in the lazy spotters thread as they are where I park my car for work. IMG_20220523_061708.thumb.jpg.8b84877ba0d5185102eb42d5f866db75.jpg

IMG_20220523_061804.thumb.jpg.3425a021be8ab4e43800472fe7f29075.jpg

The white one arrived first, followed by the blue one a few weeks later. The white one has since gone.

Today I was parked just round the corner and when I drove past the blue Saab was in the drive it is parked next to in the above pics with the owner (I presume) tinkering. When he saw me he waved and I waved back! So I'm assuming he's noticed my Favorits when they are parked there. Obviously a man of taste. If I see him there again I will have to say hello.

Conwy is nice and worth a look, maybe for anyone heading to Shitefest.

Popped into the local shite breakers today for a battery tray from a Corsa B and a suspension cup from a Laguna Mk1.

The Corsa battery tray was easy to retrieve but the Laguna part was a different kettle of crabs. A diesel estate was found and after clambering up I set to work. The strut bolts came out but I couldn’t get to the top mount nuts as the bonnet wouldn’t open. Clambering up and into the Laguna to pull the bonnet release didn’t yield the desired results and the bonnet remained firmly closed. Unfortunately I disturbed the golf next to the Laguna and approx a million wasps appeared from under the wing forcing me to make a “parkour” style escape over the pile of cars. I never realised I could move so fast!

Im returning on Tuesday to get that Laguna part.. with better tools and a bee keeper outfit!

Suddenly have come into a newer car.

I don't want it though.

At all.

It's not because I'm ungrateful, but because it was my Dad's retirement 'last car'.

Sadly it now is, we lost him after 2 weeks ill in hospital on Sunday morning. Life can be really quite 'shite sometimes, can't it?

My condolences.

Been away in Jersey for the last week.
Saw a lot and went to a very good museum on the island. Small but plenty of interesting stuff.

A lot of random WW2 paraphernalia is deposited around the island.

But the highlight definitely was the hire car that I had for the day. That though, belongs in a more appropriate thread:

You came over here and didn’t pop in to say hello? ;)

Nice to see the Renner 25 local landmark is still cluttering up the streets of St Aubin, left hand drive Turbo DX.

How did you do those Facebook photo searches?

just type in the reg number in the same box you would type in a name to search for someone.  when you press search there then should be boxes at the top which say people,groups, photo etc

I got my engine crane shifted to my mothers house and then got some ropes attached to the jag engine and moved it away from where it had been sitting next to the wall. Despite being a big engine it was an easy lift due to the cylinders being vertical so sits nicely balanced. The engines I have found awkward to lift in the past are the straight 4s or straight 5’s where the cylinders are banked well over to one side making the whole thing an unstable mess.

IMG_2707.thumb.JPG.7d09854ade6eefcc984a28d329a7ab79.JPG

I couldn’t find any engine number but helpfully jaguar have cast “3 1/2 litre” on the block. I was expecting it to be a smaller capacity as I have a mk2 jag grill with a 2.5 litre badge on it hanging on my garage wall.

I also looked out all the ancillaries I could find to go with it and got them photographed in the sunshine.

Next week I’ll brave gumtree. Hopefully jag parts should attract a better class of buyer who can communicate in coherent sentences but with gumtree you never know.
