...Notes with "Wud u sell this car" and a mobile number are from people after a quick buck, usually hoping to scrap or perhaps break or export it. Or maybe they're dreamers. Either way, put them straight in the bin.

Don't waste them. They make good firelighters.

I particularly like the fact that it includes a "crevice tool".....

Its marketing speak for 'it does 1 thing and comes with fuck all...'

Funds requested for house purchase. It'll come in a minimum 24 hours and maximum of 5 days. Marked as urgent priority because of situation, so should (possibly) be done in time but no one will make any guarantee.

House sale completes on the 4th March and we have to legally move out then.

Need to let the removal company know if our stuff needs to go into storage by tomorrow first thing. Might just have to take the punt it'll happen on Wednesday.

Farrrrrrrk...

Exchanged today. Completion and moving house tomorrow! ?

So. After buying a Rover 75 blind off EBay with no MOT and viewing it in the dark in the pissing down rain! Once I got it home and had a good look at it in the light I had one of those ‘oh fuck’ moments what have I bought. The foot wells were like duck ponds, the airbag light was on and the ABS light, the boot was full of water and it stank! Also once I got under the car it had rust! Lots of ‘surface rust’. So after many weeks work changing the side impact sensors, replacing all the wires and connectors under the seats, taking out all the carpets to dry them out and having a dehumidifier on the go for days on end, clearing out the sunroof drain holes and plenums. Then tackling the rust by wearing several wire brushes down and various wire wheels with my drill while inhaling and blinding myself with the resulting dust! I have finally got around to getting an MOT. I then spent all day yesterday cleaning and polishing it.

I only ever wanted a 75 if I could find it in this particular colour combo- old English white with Aubergine interior. I think it is the best (or worst) whichever way you look at it.

Is this the opening scene from the little-known Romero horror 'Night of the living chod'?

What a load of shonky rammel; who's attending this then?

At least the weather has been dry for the last month.

The sequel features the "reserve" cars which includes the RS1800, but no chat about it

I'm guessing it's already sold and coming to a KGF studio soon

Is it a common problem? I was told it was serviced around two years ago.

Surely it shouldn't be anywhere near my feet if I'm sat on it?

@Tubbo that looks fantastic!  Is it one of those “Japanese spec” ones with the aubergine leather? Looks stunning and well done resurrecting it.

Think I might be on a collection mission.  We'll see.  Stage 1 - setting off in this, but I don't plan on coming home in it.  Finchley here I come.

Sit-on mowers, certainly those built within the last 4 decades or so, will have a dead man's pedal which if you lift your feet off the blade stops.

That's a winner for me - great colour combo and well done on all your efforts!

Finding the Omega incredibly comfortable for some reason. I was a bit worried I'd not like Vauxhall's as I've heard a few conflicting things about the seats, but these are good.

Also, a LHD Bristol Beaufort passed me on the A303 earlier, being driven by someone who looked my age. I nodded in appreciation.

Nice work @Tubbo.

I still can't see you in one though!

Looking forward to peering through the window at that interior.

Just when things are going good life has a way of kicking you in the nuts! Just walked through the door to be handed a speeding ticket off my wife ?

Concerto is going this week. My mental mate that has my old 416GTI wants to replace the engine.
Turns out he's renting storage from another R8 apologist local to me, so he's going to move his 220GTI back home and store the Concerto.

Your wife gives out speeding tickets?

Mine just does sarcasm.

Right.  Finchley achieved.  Saab handed over to new custodian.  Now waiting for Uber driver Shafiq to turn up and take me to WC1X.  Still not entirely sure if I'm on a collection or not.

It’s a Connoisseur SE and I think the aubergine was only available with that spec but I’m sure the Rover lickers would know more.

Colour combo on that 75 has more than a hint of Gin Palace about it.  I don't hate it, though I'm not sure I'd go as far as to say I like it either, I'm just glad it exists.

My mate had a zt, thought he'd had it lowered, nah, probably just the amount of water in it, front scuttle drain, rear light seals, rear window seal, all seats n carpets out, took days taking it apart and drying it. Reassembled, quick test drive, lovely. Next day he lends it to a dick, that obviously couldn't /shouldn't of been driving, straight thru, up and over a roundabout bouncing of the trees like a bowling ball off skittles. Zt dead!
