Stage 2 was abandoned due to traffic hell in Keighley.

Will be resumed later after Imp Jr has been to Sebastians birthday party and the traffics hopefully died down.

Stage 2 part 1 now achieved.

Drove home faultlessly. Now to see what it needs for its MOT.

If you want to make sure it's the green box, the best way is to get someone to crash into it.

I did some work at Virgin Media a few years back - we were working on an automatic fault detection algorithm but had access to the current fault system. The favourite complaint was someone had complained about network outage. The technician discovered the cabinet had moved to 25 feet down the road.... and now had a rather large dent in it. 'Fault found at cabinet, cabinet no longer in original position'

ML went today, bit of a shame as was quite attached to it.  £28 a month tax to be used once in a blue moon finally hit home, new owner (23!) is over the moon with it. Was treated to a very brief piano lesson/jamming session with his mate, which was great fun. Nice walk home after too.

admittedly, as these lights have been wired up in series there was one working already, having both lights coming on makes me very happy indeed.

If they're wired up in series shouldn't you be using 6V bulbs?

I wonder if marvin means parallel as she says "one was working already" if they were in series then if 1 broke the other would not work...

(but I seem to recall them mentioning wiring the lights in series so they were not so bright)

Away on holiday atm. Nothing fancy (not my style and it’s mainly for the kids) so...

Me: We’re in Weymouth

You: Where’s that?

Me: In Dorset

You: I’d thoroughly recommend it.

(It’s more of a spoken gag that one)

Anyway, some great chod spotted on the way here. A primrose Raver 75 on the M3, various MG shite at the Fleet services and this wonderful AS spec Mini where we’re staying. Beige, Auto, Base. That’s a full house in clubhouse bingo.

Mams/step dad's Fabia is dead. Well, the mechanics says it is, but he is a fuck wit.

Anyway, 10 minutes in the bath and I found a fabulous replacement. (Not my penis) If it's still available I'll be looking at it on Saturday.

yes a slip of the keyboard there, those lights must be in parallel as the driver side had its bulb in already, and was working fine. the drivers side that was missing its bulb, and wasn't working. if they were in series, then with only one bulb both wouldn't have been working?

in other news, at the weekend we went to ripon Old Cars at Ripon Racecourse on Sunday.we go most years, and last year, sadly was a washout. this year we took th eLexus cos it had been wet and miserable on the Saturday, so i decided that the mini could stop where he was, tucked up in the garage.

Today my alarm failed to go off, which meant I actually got a reasonable sleep! I ruined it though by getting straight out of bed and going directly to ECP.

And yes, even the the shit energy drink came from ECP because apparently that's a thing they sell now. Some of them even had part number stickers on, but I thought I'd seem a bit mental (correct) if I asked for one with the sticker.

I still haven't eaten but the C2 has had a well overdue engine service. I had intended to check out the suspension too, but the little jack won't clear the sill and I can't be bothered getting the big bastard low profile one out.

I have to admit as energy drinks go it's actually quite nice, but I can get it for 70p from the shell next door to work vs ECPs 99p. I reckon they'll sell quite a few just on the basis that everyone entering is immediately overcome with tiredness from the act of being in a eurocarparts and will buy one in order to alleviate this, and also the aforementioned novelty value. It did remove one stop from my errands this morning mind you, maybe not as daft as it seems!

Poundland were doing 4 packs of Carabao for a quid at one stage.  I bought one to try - thought it was rancid.

I hate energy drinks, never touch them.
Rather drink tea.

I don't particularly like them either, but they're more portable than the industrial quantities of coffee required to satiate my uncontrollable caffeine addiction. I try to avoid them these days since it's a very real thing to get addicted to, and caffeine might not kill me but the sugar definitely will.

Posted

I did to, until I drank a Red Bull recently. I find them actually quite enjoyable to drink. Unfortunately they are also the ones that are free in the drinks and snacks fridge at work. Unfortunate as it takes a lot of will power to not drink them and get addicted to the caffeine hit when they're freely available and nearly unlimited supply.

Requires a lot of self discipline that I don't have when it comes to food and drink.

Left my house this morning and going along the 50mph dual carriageway I live on when a twat in a Renault Traffic comes flying past well over 50 and flicks a stone up from the newly resurfaced road chipping the corner of my screen.

This evening returning to be car after work said chip had turned into a massive crack.

Fuck sake, so annoying as it was the original screen and I can't leave it as the mot is next month, so that's another £85 to splash out then. ?
