On my very brief drive in the car today I was passed by some huge ugly SUV that had a Lamborghini script on the bootlid. I had no idea they made one, and perhaps wish they hadn’t!

Just come back from Mid Wales after having a weekend away. Some fantastic scenery. Especially around the Elan Valley.

 

Went in the Aldi Titty and I won't deny, it was great fun piloting around the roads around there in it. It tears me as I'm really not a VAG fan, but I've warmed to it a lot. So much so, right now I don't think I can get rid of it. If I do, I'm not sure what I'd replace it with. Well maybe it would be replaced with a bottom end for the MGB and me attempting to daily that...

 

We paused here for 2 minutes when the clock ticked to 11am earlier.

This is some of the power generation turbines there. Pictures not the best as the doors were closed and so I took them through the window.

 

I really want to go back to the Elan Valley when the season changes next. Definitely want to do it in my 1100 or MGB. The roads are like they are designed for them.

 

Also went to Hay-on-Wye yesterday where I bought this book from a second hand book shop.

 

Saw this old thing too. In very good condition, so nice to see it out in the dirty weather we've got at the moment.

 

Finally went to this place on our way back.

 

Not as good (or should that be as bad...) as the Newton Abbot one, however they had a lot more stock. Picked up a fair few cheap car bits. May have to come back again when I do the 1100 loom as their connectors, relays and accessories are very reasonably priced.

I should have learnt not to place a snipe or cancel it early instead of getting side-tracked when the auction is ending.

 

I might have to make an unscheduled trip to the home counties soon, unfortunately I appear to be working in Cardiff or Edinburgh for the next couple of weeks.

15 days since I decided to quit smoking and use a vape instead.

 

I've had 32 roll-ups in that 15 day period, 2 per day roughly. I've none had since Thursday so nearer 3 per day.

 

It's tough sometimes, but I'll get through it. My chest hurts where my lungs are cleaning themselves out.

you're doing well, keep it up! I gave up smoking in march after smoking 40 fags a day for as long as I can remember. Vaping all day instead though!

The old electro-pipe has taken a bit of a hammering. The cat thinks it's a toy and knocked it off the coffee table & broke the glass bowl on day three this little sod, so I have to keep it hidden. I do use it more than I smoked cigarettes, but that's because it's a much lower nicotine strength than Marlboro or Old Holborn rolling tobacco.

There are a couple of young hipster chaps who walk around Chichester that smoke pipes.

 

A pipe with a really good quality tobacco in it is quite a pleasant smoke. Says he who is giving up. I did smoke one at my wedding, much to my wife's disgust. Plus they're good for pointing at things.

I'm in process of quitting smoking again. Use ecig a lot. Had 10 fags in 3 days and only smoking my pipe twice a day Maximum now. Plan is to use the pipe sparingly and live off ecig. Vape pipe is a plan

Hopefully this bits will bring the passenger rear door into fully operational condition. The broken speaker grill has been bothering me since I bought it and the window can only be operated from the front switch.

 

The seller has also given me some tips on upgrading the headlights and central locking, which should resolve some other niggles I have.

E liquids are made with propylene glycol, vegetable glycerine and flavourings, the first two are common food additives. I wouldn't say vaping is healthy but it's a lot better than the well known nasties in cigarettes.
