365 Scottish pounds

Looks nice and shiny and that's a barg price for an Allegro these days, assuming it isn't too fucked.

That Allegro looks ace. the main rot spot on these heaps is where the front suspension tie rods meet the front valance. If its ok there you're laughing.

EGR problems on my Shitroen 1.6hdi showing PO405 Code, anyone had a result spraying EGR /MAF cleaner spray into the turbo intake?

It'd be just as effective spraying jizz up the windscreen.

Make sure you get a new gasket and clip from cit/pug when you replace the valve, I recommend loosening the egr cooler when fitting to prevent bending the flange, it is only about as thick as a Cole tin and bends as easily.

Turns out my fault with the 45 wasn't down to user error as I suspected it's actually an iffy connector on the starter motor because TADTS. Got stuck in the car park again this evening, same thing - no start, even in N, FTP.

Finally figured it out that the connector was wiggling loose because of the lunar landscape that masquerades as a car park, which was unsettling the connection. Will give it a good clean out and hopefully that'll be an end to it.

In other minor fettling news, the Cruiser was on the naughty step because the bonnet refused to shut, and rather than risk a flap/bang/shatter scenario, I opted not to use it for a few days whilst I tried a few things. Have now a bodge in place that enables me to shut it, open it, then shut it again with a wiggle of a screwdriver in the right place. Will need a permanent fix in a few weeks as it's MoT is due in Oct and I want to get it in early, as the 45 is due at the end of that month and I suspect the two iffy MoTs it got previously (suspiciously clean) will bite me hard in the wallet.

Found a couple of pics of Pops and his old van. He always left a vehicle in a better state than he found it. He spent fortunes and many man hours of toil on that old bus and it was faultless when he eventually sold it.

Think he was pretty proud of it and he was very reluctant to part with it, even when he knew he was too ill to use and enjoy it.

Sure its still doing someone a good turn somewhere.

After 3 years of being very well behaved the E46 let itself down and failed an MoT, looks like it will need a new cat. It’s 17 years old and still on the original system so can’t complain too much. Only pain is that I can’t get one from my pet place until late in the week so car will be off the road until early next week.

Mrs Egg 'forgot' to get me anything for my birthday a couple of weeks ago, but she has done the business now :-)

I wonder how many gallons per mile that beast achieves.

I'm sure I read somewhere once that a similarish* load achieved 0.8MPG. Most of it is rolling resistance, and that's a fuckload of tyres!

I have one of those for work. The "ABCD" (rather than "QWERTY") type keyboard drives me absolutely potty. It is quite amusing being able to label random shite that doesn't really need labelling though...

News. Actual news, and not good news:

The thought of being in a car falling from that sort of height is the stuff of Nightmares. Very very bad ones.

Pretty terrifying images. The death toll will sadly continue to rise, awful.

LABEL MACHINE needs to be the first thing to be printed.

I'd start with one that says 'do not read this label'.

Mrs CCC and I tied the knot last week in the Greek island of Kefalonia.

What’s that got to do with Autoshite?

Well back at home, my wedding gift from my wife (completely unknown to me) was being delivered as we signed the register.

A non running Alfa 145.

Soulmates.

We’ll see what it’s like when We return (currently struggling with this view...)

Having recently been on Italian roads I'm not that surprised. They appear shockingly badly maintained.
