That period where you go home and the wife / new one are in hospital is bloody weird . Never has a house seemed to empty.

Give it a few weeks, he’ll be looking back on that night trying to remember what sleep feels like

Congratulations Andy! I hope Baby_cms and Mum are both doing well.

I'm feeling just a tiny fraction of your joy this morning as I've now got one of these for the 626.

Advisories on rusty bottom and oil leak will be dealt with, and I've just got the small matter of finding a new door for it. I tried a different garage for a change, one that always has old stuff lingering about, and they seem decent blokes so will go there again.

I went for a stroll whilst waiting to spot some rammel and found these two.

OK it's a Sherpa coupe but I like it on the slots

Nice one Rob, good to see the Mazda will live again.  Just a thought on the door but can you not take the door card off, get hold of a big piece of wood and use it to push the dent out?  Wouldn't be immaculate of course and doesn't sort the window but might make it more presentable.

That has to be the ex-Dollywobbler Dyane, I cannot believe there are two of them.

I was going to say that has to be the farm find Dyane, nice to see it’s still out there.

Congrats CMS! Being against the odds must make it even more special.

Congrats again Andy, we was also told that we couldn't have children yet nearly 2 years later we have a right handful of a little girl and 8 weeks away from having a second child. Make the most of these early days, you don't realise how easy they are when they sleep all the time!

Congrats CMS and Mrs CMS.

Could have just nipped down the KFC followed by the muzzies whilst you were waiting:

Before Imp Jr was born, I had paid for 24 hours parking in the multi story when we got to the hospital and had to pop out at around 12 noon the next day whilst Mrs Imp was in labour to top up the payment. The midwife said we would have a few hours until Imp Jr popped his head into the world so I went across the road to add another 24hrs on.

It was a bloomin' lovely day. Blue sky and roasting hot. I'd been awake for 36 hours and was feeling a bit dazed. I was passing the dry dock (pub) on the way back to the hospital and thought to myself 'I could well murder a couple of pints, that will make me feel a bit more alive' but I had Mrs Imps phone charger (or something else she wanted, my minds a little hazy on the exact details) which I had just got from the car and I thought I had best get back to the hospital before she went mad at me.

Just as well I did as I had only been back a couple of minutes and he was on his way. If I'd had that beer I'd have missed him making his entrance at 12.24. I would have seriously damaged what little post birth pub privileges I had if I had done that.

Tyreleader have cancelled my order because apparently the garage doesn’t exist.

I’ve used them before...

Probably doesn’t help that they tried to call me but I couldn’t answer as iOS was being a shit and the call speaker stopped working until I restarted my phone a bit later.

My brother's little lad has been keeping them up ever since they brought him home.  Possibly because he was premature and is trying to make up the lost weight - when I was over there last week he was eating just over double the normal amount for a baby of his weight, and had already made up 2lb and 6cm in the fortnight since they brought him home.  Flip side is that he was eating literally every couple of hours all day and all night.

Collected a spare 205 block pinto to rebuild ready for when mine goes terminal.

Currently looking at doing a draw through turbo as per the original janspeed set up as I have the huge SU it ran with originally.

Anybody spot me on the m1 with the biggest trailer and smallest load?

In other news 3 reasonable heathly men can lift a pinto with ease, 1 man with a knackered back can strap it to the loading arms of a tractor to off load :)

I thought the FDL plate looked familiar. And the paint job obviously!

My next job is to do as you suggest Phil, although the door panel holes are in the wrong place and quite small but I'll have a go.

Great news on the 626 rob! I've been keeping my eyes open for a mythical 626 in white at the local yards.

He is our first aye... we were more or less told we'd never conceive naturally but this little bugger proved otherwise.

I'm home and flying at 40,000 feet, mum and baby still in hospital... hoping to have them home tomorrow :)ef03fa1295f96217a393a22bfda27b5a.jpg

At work this afternoon my mobile had a shedload of calls off a withheld number.  Needless to say I didn't answer.  Just as I was getting home I heard the phone buzzing again, this time it was a Norwich number.  Missed the call but it rang again about 30 seconds later - turns out it was the old bill.  The council had been up to the car park this morning to check that I'd removed the Rover and Golf, and seen the Toyota key sticking out of the boot lock where I'd left it like a twat - so they'd nabbed it and driven it down to the nearest police station, 8 miles away - nice of them I thought.

I did have a card through my door asking me to call them about the cars still on the car park - there's only three on there now, two of which are taxed so I can bung them on the road if need be, and none of them have tickets on so will see what's what when I get round to ringing the council back.  It's not actually their car park, it belongs to a housing association, so they can only get involved if vehicles are abandoned, which they would have a hard time proving I reckon as the two cars are taxed and the Movano (which isn't) has only been on there a couple of weeks and is still quite a tidy respectable-looking van, even if the turbo is shagged.

Knobless van turned up tonight after some heroic efforts from another autoshiter, I've yet to look at it in the daylight but first impressions are it's a rusty pile of shit.... b8ff9d7ff00facc70203978f011bb651.jpg

Use something L-shaped so the end goes inside the door hole?

Three? Was there still a gearbox stuck to it or something?

Any colour will do!  My only current option is a red one in Germany for 250 euros, so that's not happening.
