I've had three Mk3 Mondeo TDCis.  I like them to drive, but all three have had issues to the extent that I probably wouldn't have another.

I had a TDCi Ghia Mondeo when they weren't shite i.e. 3 years old in 2007 and cost me £5k. I really liked it for the most part, although a 2.0 pez would've been better I reckon. LX interiors looked grim so it had to be a Ghia.

Mine was 7 years old when I bought it (2012) and I paid £2k plus a Rover 45! Depreciation because Ford and because billions of them were about by that time.

Yes, I think the depreciation curve on the MK3 was helped because everyone started wanting crossovers and large family saloons were so uncool, man.

Hi hear drive tribe have laid off all the guys they got from evo to create films. I don't think the update on the site had been what the thought . I have to say I find it extremely confusing .

Have we got time to have an Autoshite day out there? 2017 - the year of visiting failed museums!

The Web site is still there but I can't find any opening times?

That's a shame, day out sounds good.

Oh and back to Dibnah, we've got until late November. Shall I see if I can set up a visit first weekend of Nov?

We should group buy his Landy if they’ve got it.

Also presumably that’s in Bolton? I’d go.

Ok. It's £12 per head, and I'm just trying to confirm whether they have space on 4th November. It's either that or third weekend, as the NEC means I can't do the second. He doesn't do Sundays, so it will be a Saturday. Once I get confirmation of when they can do, I'll start a Fred Thread.

I live 300 yards from that close and one of my buddys lives in one of the houses, they are now rented out

I want to visit you and your buddy...

^ Didn't one of them discharge its battery overnight?

Yup, and one blew a turbo hose and one shat an injector.  And two had rattly DMFs.

The red 200 is going to the scrapyard tomorrow as the Council have run out of patience.  Unfortunately none of the local scrappies can do a weekend pickup at the moment so I'm going to have to try and nurse it to the nearest yard 8 miles away, which should be interesting* with it pissing out water. :?

Golf still hasn't been collected and Council have put a ticket on that too so I'm going to have to tax it and park it out on the road somewhere - not an option with the Rover though as no test.

Oh dear. Still it's fixable if you can do it yourself or have the £££ to pay somebody.

They haven't got the Landy, or the engines, or indeed very much actual ex-Fred stuff at all. Take all claims with a pinch of salt.

A better use of your hard earned would be a trip to the (excellent) Bolton Steam Museum who have the workshop engine or a visit next summer to one of the many rallies run for an actual worthy cause (and not someone's pension fund) to see the roller, tractor and Landrovers out and about and being enjoyed with the Dibnahs and friends.

Well, when you put it like that, I'm tempted to to have a rethink!

It does explain why the place is shutting if there is nowt t'see

My Dad is having a problem with his new Rover 75.

Would £550 seem excessive for replacing two front suspension bushes and anti roll bar links?

Posted

When you can buy a perfectly good freshly-ticketed 75 for a mere £400 ;) the answer would seem to be yes.

Just a bit excessive!

The problem is he just did!

He took the car in to his favorite garage (who I've never known to fix his car, he's scrapped the last 4 on their advice) who did an off the computer MoT and came back with that and a warning on the head gasket as the oil and water levels were high.

I'm less than impressed.

Wait a minute.... does that mean the Road Wars Vectra's gone?
