Now the world's most valuable Micra?

I was hoping by some miracle I could find on Streetview - but no joy!

Well, it won’t be taken away for scrap any time soon 😄 It was probably already there, not deliberately placed there without rear springs as part of the piece?

I've been going through my old photos and this one caught my eye.

It's a Routemaster in Halifax but what is the car in the bottom right corner?

Can this weather please get a grip already?

IMG_4587.jpeg.fd1bfbc82266254aa0ecc7482ab7ab8a.jpeg

IR thermometer was saying 47,3 in front of the building I live in, IN SHADE. Severe high temperature warning has been shouted at me from Weatherkit for what seems like forever now.
I understand it’s summer and summer is warm, but this is now Dubai or Cairo warm, and it’s unbearable in a place not designed for weather to be this warm for this long.

Oh, and the bulb is not out, it’s just throwing front light is out error randomly, just for it to clear and pop up again randomly for over 3 years now. No, me neither.

An uncharacteristic flurry of activity at Chez Chod has seen a new EGR valve put on the Focus delivery hack, and since Ford are arseholes, a Forscan compatible* OBD dongle arrived this morning so that the new valve could be calibrated. Time will tell what irritating characteristics of the car have been banished by these efforts, but Forscan also told me that the clutch pedal switch is on the fritz, so there's more work to do there that might pay dividends.

The Voyager has also been spoiled with new front discs and pads, so again, time will tell if the brakes now inspire more confidence. And again, a fluid change is needed, so...

Note to self: the n/s drive shaft outer gaiter strap is more than ready to let go, so that needs replacing.

Short commutes are hard on cars. Needs a good thrashto get everything properly hot, boil condensation out of the oil, burn soot off the plugs etc…

I wonder if a recent longer run is what's upset it.  Got it fast and hot enough to clear everything out and it was a lot happier.  I've got a few runs like that coming up on a more regular basis now too so hopefully it'll get happier and not have these grumpy days.

I found some air holes on the Wife’s Jazz while working on it last week, the MOT is booked for Monday but fortunately a friend came to the rescue and with the hot metal glue gun a piece of Rover P6 panel  found in the scrap bin was grafted in! Fingers crossed for Monday!

MOT failed on headlights and handbrake not handbraking enough, fixed the cloudy headlights and fitted new discs and pads to the back and failed on the handbrake again!

I need to rebook for a fresh MOT now and the earliest slot is in a weeks time! Bah!

For the first time in a very long time I have more than one £50 note at the same time.

I feel like going to Tesco in the morning and trying to use one to buy a Freddo.

I did something similar in my local Tesco a year or two back, not recommended. There was all sorts of muttering and scurrying about to check validity of said £50 note.

It was like I'd presented a $100 tn Zimbabwe note or something.

Might be a bit more expensive than I'd anticipated though as all the cheapest horns on eBay seem to be advertised as being 300dB, and I refuse to buy those because the sellers are evidently cunts.

I'm sort of intrigued, since from what I understood the generally accepted wisdom was that an atomic bomb being detonated creates 250dB at it's epicentre. So am I to believe this £15 eBay can produce a noise 100 times more powerful than the eruption of mount st Helens?

https://housegrail.com/decibel-equivalent-table-whats-how-loud/

200db is fatal, above that is considered a shock wave rather than a noise.

Agreed, Seller is still a cunt

No, that's not correct.

It's always better to have a tool you don't need, than need a tool you don't have...

I think you all know what I mean 😁

Thanks, a quick Google does confirm this. I'm sure 90% of these are estates which is why I didn't recognise the slightly awkward C pillar.

It was taken somewhere between Halifax and Huddersfield, I don't know exactly where but that was the bus route, and about 25 years ago if that helps.

Booked tickets and hotel for Retromobile in February. Let’s see if the French can do a car show better than the NEC. Shouldn’t be too difficult.

I went a few years ago, it was brilliant. Spent ages looking around the first hall we went in only to discover it was the small bit and the other hall was gigantic

Yes it was somebody I knew through work - 1990-92 odd - I remember the car - very distinctive and unusual at the time.

Pennine winters are super harsh and salty - I doubt it got past 10 years old.

FFS, I have to post the paperwork off to get my plate off the BMW. It needs a 'cheque' or a 'postal order'. What ancient artefacts are these?!

The Legacy saloon was Subaru’s first world rally car driven by Colin  McRae (and others) before they switched to the Impreza.

Need to grease the suspension.

Still waiting on parts for the Jag. This seems to be common.

BBC news at lunchtime had a story warning people to stay away from a canal in Birmingham because of a spillage of Sodium Cyanide. Over to the reporter at the scene. “The emergency services are here and a number of the public seeing what’s going on”. FFS! What are you going to see apart from dead fish ( the few that have survived the existing pollution)?

BBC helpfully told us Sodium Cyanide is poisonous, (is there anyone over 10 who doesn’t know cyanide is a poison?) and added “it could make you ill”. Very ill indeed, as in dead.
