For the first time in 25 yrs of fiddling with cars I have had some paintwork done, nasty rust blister on one door top  and one on a door bottom ,a new grille surround colour coding and some scratches buffed out , I was very nervous leaving my baby with a random paint man but fook me he's done a magnificent job, spectrometer used to match the paint and it's an invisible blend. Happy bunny :)

No hole strictly speaking, but the outer sill has fizzled away.

Another 10 mile wonder around Stoke revealed some beautiful old crocks.

The SD1 was a regular sight until a few years ago, glad to see it’s still around.

I think we can all unite and agree that the best use of the Lincoln involves an oval and a steel post.

Bini gone. It's so much of a nicer car than the Fabia. The Fabia makes you feel like a cheapskate or a peasant. Problem is, it does everything the Mini goes but costs less to do. Apart from driving quickly - the Fabia is very slow.

Extra £650 doesn't go a miss though. Even if I did loose like £400 on it. The £100 deposit pretty much disappeared filling the Boxster tank up at the weekend...

I have the exact opposite problem.

That's a Northern Counties Palatine 2 bodied Volvo Olympian. It looks like it's from a First Group batch from 1997 or 1998. First haven't used step entrance buses for a long time and most go for scrap when they've come out of service. That's a excellent spot.

There's one in preservation in Glasgow from a the local First company, they'd probably appreciate it for spares but it's got a look of 'not for sale' about it.

Sirion (bought on here) passed.

Great stuff but I was stunned at how clean the emissions are

IMG-20211112-WA0006.thumb.jpeg.ec7b577153393481ce37dee17ed6caca.jpeg as it's burning around a litre of oil every 500 miles!! Still can't believe it really. I'd purposefully left the oil close to min - somehow it did the trick.

To celebrate (Suzie the sexy Sirion - not really it's just a sodding car) it will be getting 2 new rear Goodyears to replace the cracking Joyroads. If it fails next year on emissions it will at least go to the scrappers classily shod.

Brand new job started this week, down south. Drove back last night, been there since Sunday.

The wife is particularly impressed that this afternoon, I'm driving to the NEC to disappear until Sunday night. If anyone is coming, if you come to the MR2DC stand, I'm the fella with the beard and the Blue Mk3 (with the brown engine). I've seen some of the snobbery around the NEC and my car is far from a) standard and b) a garage queen, so expect to see some criticism. The MR2DC got slagged off last time too, because it didn't contain mint, standard examples (which isn't what the DC is about).

I didn't spot this otherwise I'd have come round and said hello. Thanks for taking the time and effort to display your car. I much prefer seeing a loved example that is used regularly, rather than seeing rows upon rows of display models you could eat your dinner off. Much more my cuppa tea!

Can't sleep  lied in bed eating rolos and watching some Scottish bloke tart up an old vectra B, living the dream.

Dougies channel is brilliant,  he's bought a £200 Astra MK3 saloon in the summer that he's doing up now too. Hopefully he will get round to his Cavalier too.

He used to be the editor of Total Vauxhall magazine, now he's with Truck and Driver.

Proper Vauxhall anorak, knows every obscure trim level and special edition from the 80 and 90s.

Susie is making some dreadful noises when I drive her around corners. My man with the spanners reckons it's the drive shafts, so she's booked in for Tuesday. Do they actually break or is it just the bendy bits at the ends which come undone? Anyone know if 1.8 Coraddo items will fit an '87 Susie?

And I've been meaning to say for a while that since switching to super unleaded, Barry covers noticably more miles to the galleon.

Naming cars is for utter twats.

Yeah I love his stuff! It feels like your going back in time watching his vids. Shame that woman fucked him over with this one!

Aye his era of interest is exactly the same as mine although he says he's never had a Corsa B. That's good as I've seen enough of them!

That roaster of a woman might have done him over but he sure turned a negative into a positive with saving the car and getting a few thousand subs along the way!

Also in the market for a winter beater and can’t seem to decide what I want… there are loads of quite interesting things out there.

Although I really ought to sell some thing before I buy!

Same! Before I became a serial bmw licker I had plenty of vectra B's, corsa B/Cs and an Astra G. My mate had a corsa sport as a, first car in red, I used to envy him 😂

Mrs_LabRat had a little* bump in the Tivoli last night. Was at a notoriously bad unlit crossroads in the dark, didn't see the bloke opposite her indicate to turn right across the front of her and walloped it.

Of course, she couldn't pick a bloody focus to hit, oh no. She went and twatted an Isuzu Trooper, which needs quite a bit of repair now- new bumper, headlight, bumper support, front grille and wing... Which because it's a late model trooper (04 plate) means that you can't source the parts.

The Tivoli is looking a bit worse for wear too:IMG-20211113-WA0000.thumb.jpeg.59623d5dcac5d0074ee55ecdd9ac67a2.jpeg

I'm reckoning new wing, headlight and bumper skin, but we shall see what the insurance says.

She is fine thank Christ, other than it tripping off her anxiety by having to deal with the insurance.

I really am an utter twat. I can't believe that I wrote Barry, when of course I meant Billy!
