Does this count as progress towards sorting out the garage?

IMG_20201014_123947.thumb.jpg.7f99a16c1927ae4aa1fde1610621ffcc.jpg

I lost patience with regularly wasting half an hour to find these usual suspects - spanners from 8-19mm, the Allen key set and the box of drill bits.  These are items which always vanish into the garage as they lacked a home other than buried in the bottom of the tool box (which I rarely can be bothered to haul far enough out to actually open).

Five minutes sticking some screws in the wall and they now have an easy to get to, visible place to live.

One day I will have proper tool racks for most of the tools...but that's a long way away yet!

Took the dad wagon for its MOT and is passed with few advisories. . But very happy ... not done 2k in a year as 2nd car in my fleet. As I use the v6 mondeo as daily and sometimes stuboy juniors corsa.

Why?  What's wrong with using a float like everyone else?

Because Citroen. Mine still works admirably BTW 👍

For the first time in nearly a year, a collection is set for Friday morning.  This is a big one - certainly the largest vehicle I've ever owned - and as it's being combined with a work trip, it starts tomorrow morning.  In an excellent bit of one-in-one-out planning, the vehicle it's replacing is off to a new home with a trusted shiter on Sunday too.

Bluebird front plate reverted back to an old style one - always thought it looked odd with a new font up front. Going to sort out the trim... At some point.

On the cusp of buying a very cheap Volvo 940 with a short MOT.

However, I don't have need for another car nor room, - no room for a regular car, never mind for a car the size of a small building.

Struggling to reconcile between these two problems. Super cheap Ovlov vs not actually having anywhere to put it.

It's been all Police Interceptors round here this evening!  When I was walking the dog about 1845 hours, a white Audi A3 came flying down the street we were walking along, followed by a Skoda dog van showing no blues but galloping anyway.  Both disappeared into distant streets, but a few minutes later the Audi shot past the end of the street we were on, and the neighbour I was talking to reported hearing a crash.  So obviously I went for a bit more walk, as soon as I'd taken the dog home.  I was passed by a fully-marked ARV cruising the streets, and shortly afterwards by a local patrol van.  Between the two I had found the car, so I waved the van down...

"Are you looking for a white Audi?"

"yes, we are."

"It's round the corner in Durham Street."

You've never seen two police officers so delighted.  The ARV crew drove right past it....

Waiting for the Astra to get collected by the scrapman...they will have a HGV to collect it. I happen to live at the top of a Cul-De-Sac. The bin's get collected today too, and haven't yet been done so. Chances that they will arrive on the street, at the same time? Very heigh...

To make matters worse? Half the houses on the street are parked out on the street due to getting external insulating/cladding fitted...and there are workvans for that kicking about.

This'll be fun... 🤣

Looked like Mick Fleetwood was outside earlier  - tall, mid 70's white hair and ponytail, leopard-print clogs and a maserati.

Finally fixed the daily drive Focus.  Work was interrupted somewhat by the alternator failing halfway through and me convincing myself it must be something I'd done.  Appreciated the friendly touch from the eBay breakers I bought some of the parts from.

If anyone needs anything large (not a car) moving in Medway / Kent / South East tomorrow - let me know. Late afternoon I'll have a spare LWB van from helping a friend move sitting idle.

I sold this old forum friend over a year ago.

Well ? What happened ? Did the binmen try and stuff it in the back of their wagon, or did the contractors use Astra bits for some post-modern external cladding ? Pray tell...

That's properly upset me, seeing that.

I should never have got rid of it. Kind of glad to see it still going, as it was pretty rough when I got shot of it in May 2019!

Hell, the first photo in your post is one I took, in my street! I love how it still has the Scottish plates too.

Meh, bigger losses at Culloden as me maw says...

Glad it's still alive though. Wonder if is still a 2 key job to start it?!

As everyone seems to be buying Clio sports, I thought I would dig out my Clio 182 and put it on the road. It's been shielding in my garage for the last six months.

While it's been parked I have added another earth to each rear cluster to stop it lighting my dash up everything I brake, fitted a new o/s drive shaft, even  autodoc supplied to correct part.

Fitted a new temp sender and adjusted the brake switch to cure my abs fault.

the orange one? Saw that but was a mission away, plus could have had the axle issue :S

a moonstone blue one ended the other day @ £510, and is now on Autotrader for £995 i think

I hope once my axle's sorted it will be a 'minter' for a 206 :)

On the E36 Stereotype bingo sheet, nearly a full house on the mod's.
I did always say to @Supernaut that this would end up happening once it left here...

Another reason for him to keep the 316 at all costs!

Thursday night (it was decided before I got home from work) was takeaway night.

So I hopped aboard the most able curry collection vehicle:

Now I took the photo and had planned that the post would end there... but...

About half a mile from home it started making quite a din! (It’s a 2CV it’s not the quietest anyway...) I think it blew a hole in its exhaust.... (hopefully not a foreshadowing of what will happen to me after the curry 😬)

No... not a hole... it sheered the bugger off!!!

Thankfully I have the one I picked up from as kind soul on here as a replacement!!

Has the battery been disconnected? I don't know with the Clio but usually you need to put the steering from lock to lock for recalibrating the steering angle end stops after reconnecting the battery.

Posted

Yeah the battery has been disconnected, but it's always done since I've had it, always seems to behave mot time.

It doesn't throw any codes up so I was thinking it was the brake switch pedal out of adjustment, as I've read the when you brake the abs realises there is a increase in pressure in the system, but if the brake light switch isn't activated it throws up the abs light. So needs to be adjusted properly.

It's possible to trigger the light without even driving the car just by keeping foot on the brake.

I don't know if the lock to lock will do anything with this as I ripped out the shite Pas system for epas.
