Ooft! I was just thinking last night how id love to rock a senator for a bit. Calling dibs

Funnily enough, something else has come up for sale that I tried to buy a few weeks ago and couldn't get hold of the seller until today. The Senator owes me £900, you can have it for that if you like?

One of my managers got clocked at 80 in a 30 last night. Then when he saw blue lights behind him decided the thing to do was put his foot down on his brand new 1.4 Corsa. It took an impressive amount of distance for them to catch him so I can only assume they weren't really trying very hard. He's been driving for exactly two years and a day, I suspect possibly not for much longer. By the time I'd been driving that long I'd settled comfortably into Volvo ownership, none of this evading police nonsense.

I wanted to put this in the grin thread, but it felt a bit cruel even though 80 in a 30 is the sort of thing that absolutely deserves removal of driving rights.

Driving into a car park full of people so fast that your tyres screech and some or more people have to tell you to slow down isn't great either though man ;)

Just saying.

MOT,major service, new tyres and front brakes this morning.

Clean pass no advisories, pleased with this.

Last year it went to the Nissan main dealer as i was planning in keeping the main dealer service history ,but due to the piss poor service I received.

I put it into my mates place.A major service, new pads and the MOT came in at £200 less than last years mainstealers.

Here is a photo of the air filter that the main dealer,"changed last year" yeah !! that i was charged for..

The air filter and pollen filter I had supposedly changed in my company focus last year looked even worse than that. Despite main stealer saying it had been replaced and charged for them. Ended up causing car to repeatedly going into limp home mode. The lease company got involved and went fucking apeshite. My employee and lease company ended up getting compensation and full refunds from the dealer.

Take your car to Trust Ford in Bristol at your own risk!

Put the bloody roof down man, it's not cold and I bet the heater is like a furnace anyway.

Should be a pleasant drive down in that, I hope you're bringing it back too!

Time for a quick update on the Saab’s progress towards Barcelona.

The roof came down when the rain stopped- Mrs T says rain makes the hair go frizzy. Heater is indeed very toasty. Made good use of it today leaving Barcelona in the mist and again climbing up into Andorra. Didn’t need it between times at the temperature was close to 30C. So - two days topless motoring behind us.

We missed the rain today - that was lucky as it takes a while to put the roof up. Hopefully will reach Barcelona tomorrow pm.

Turns out the Saab is extremely under decorated- we appear to have forgotten to add a gun turret / rocket boosters that other cars have. In fact we only have the 2 stickers we were sent. Must try harder.

Are we bringing it back ? Probably. Won’t tempt fate though. And if we do it will be a long drive on Monday. Car has behaved so well though it deserves not to be crushed.

I didn't know that there was a show at Brymbo. My dad would have taken the fiat if he’d known. My step grandfather used to work at the steelworks.

Yeah, I think it’s the second year they’ve held it. It’s mainly been advertised via Facebook. It had grown from last year apparently.

O series - spot on. The owner was surprised that I knew that! Produced for around 18 months for the fleet market. Not many survivors. The owner also told me that the white one that @dollywobbler had is going strong as it’s owned by a friend of his.

If you want to stop it, you need to put the seeds in an old biscuit tin or similar.  Most rodents won't bother gnawing through a tin but will go through wooden or plastic containers.  The plastic bag and being up high is no obstacle at all, your lovely rack of tools is a perfect rodent ladder.  I'd vote mice too, they don't always leave droppings where they collect and eat the food.  For the sake of your car's wiring and interior, I'd be moving the seeds elsewhere completely.
Mate had a Boxster written off by a mouse grtting in to it during winter hibernation, car not mouse. Could've needed a complete loom but they couldn't tell without takinh the loom out. Catch 22ish.

Were you heading out of Aylesbury on Thursday morning, saw loads of well decorated cars coming towards me, I'll have a look for you in the dash can footage...

Not us. We left Horsham on Wednesday. Other teams would have left early on Thursday - some had a really long drive to get to Roeun for Thursday evening registration. And then was another long drive to Barcelona on Friday. Yesterday was more fun. Fantastic scenery and Pau was a lovely place to have lunch. Strain is showing on or two cars.

About 6 years ago I used to own this Midget!

Do you mention this if the owner is about?

I'm more likely to keep quiet unless they get all "So are YOU the prick who welded a lump of old washing machine over the sill?" and "Who the F*** rewired the indicators all in red wire?!"

Thankfully I don’t think I did any outrageous bodges on this one....

Although I had a Dolomite once which I bought with a Frankenstein cooling system. The next owner contacted me to explain it one day. I had no clue either it was the guy before me’s fault!

Drove over to bradford yesterday. Went to look at a toyota verso. Up for five grand. Got out of car looked at it and got instinct said walk away. But dealer was there so being polite had a look. Four mismatched part worms, gear leaver worn out, pedal rubbers worn, plastic by rear seats worn, nice and grubby inside. Dealer couldn't tell me where it came from, didn't know if it had any history. Tells me it doesn't need a service , how without history he knew maybe physic.  So is m polite and ask him how much he may give me for my jap bus. I went there because he is an importer of jap stuff and has about 50 cars on his lot. Well he goes on to tell me its worth around two grand . Of course it is mate and I'm a fucking penguin. So jap bus will stay till mot service in March. Then will have a go at selling privately.

In other news. Having got back from bradford . I had a go at my vectra bonnet. I had sprayed it myself and it looked like stevie wonder had done it. So good run down with 3 grades of wet and dry. Buff with a drill attachment pad and some compound . Then a good wax and buff and it came up ok. Not showroom but passable.so a few more bits to do like the rear hatch where I removed the wiper. Won a rear spoiler on ebay, cos I am a boy racer at heart. So will paint that when it comes and have a laugh fitting it. It's a bit rattly over bumps so I may put it into a garage for a idea of what and how much. Kids don't like it cos " it's small,  no cuo holders, no electric doors, no internet, the sun shines through the windows,  no electric windows and a few other things. So that suits me . I shall use it on my own. Also then it wint get full of kids crap.

That's not how I expected that to end. It's not Autoshite unless you say 'I bought it anyway'.

I know letting the side down. However I am spending money on my vectra . Get it all ok. Then see something else and sell it for fuck all . We all know it's coming.

Today was collecting a cheap 'rock n roll' bed for the T25, and the lady kindly gave me a 12V fridge too. No idea how to fit either, though the bed will need a shelf or something underneath it. It's just sort of thrown in here, not fixed once...

Prior to this I picked up some matching colour side panels for the Scomadi , then quite badly applied the 'wraps' for them.  Everybody's favourite group immortalised on everybody's favourite two wheeler...

Got to love a  Colway! They used to do Rally remoulds as well, as a stupid 17 year old I bought a set of their tarmac road legal slicks for my Capri. They only lasted a month and were bloody lethal in anything but perfectly dry conditions. Wish they were still going.

I was just pleased to see an Alpine on steel wheels! When I mentioned this to the owner he admitted he was going to put chrome wires on it. His car, his choice..

My best drinking buddy changed a front spring on his sons e87 1series bmw.

Of course as soon as he had finished that it randomly came up with a electronic steering lock error and wouldn't even start.

I was asked to help.

Foolishly I said yes.

My delphi ds150 clone with cars2014 and WOW wouldnt clear the fault so we bought a bmw k+dcan cable and I installed bmw standard tools.

I spent an evening installing this. Then another evening pissing about trying to clear the fault then another evening trying to update the cas (car access sytem) firmware as a suggested fix.

Then another evening digging through the dash to remove the electronic steering lock which is affixed by 5 sided security torx screws.which we didn't have a suitable bit for.

I managed to get the lock motor to actuate but it was decided to buy a £70 lock emulator rather than put the lock back on and have it fail again.

This cleared the fault but now the immobiliser (cas - dme) was throwing up a tamper fault.

By this time the install of bmw tools was buggered by having to keep changing settings between the programs to get the cable to work.

Deep despair caused many beers. And discussion of scrap values.

I spent 13 hours reinstalling the software plus versions of ista p and d (older bmw main dealer software) paying close attention to configs so I didn't have to fudge the settings if I needed to change the program I was using.

I wish using unsupported pirated main dealer software was easier?

After almost 2 weeks of spending every spare minute scouring the internet to understand the problem, and downloading nearly 1/2 a terabyte of files, I spent an hour today resetting stuff and screwing the interior back together and normal service has resumed.

Tldr

Stupid idea having a cheap plastic Chinese toy thing to work the steering lock and computerised diagnosis/repair is not the same as undoing a couple of shear bolts.

Fixed it though?

I had quite a constructive day today as I serviced the girlfriends A class plus I started my old E36 which has been sitting for a year and it started 1st turn of the key.

Also I went to pick up some smaller wheels for the Bini which won on eBay for £35 which have good tyres.

So now I have 3 sets of Mini wheels and a Set of E36/Z3 wheels spare and a few odd wheels knocking about.

How many  spare Wheels does an Autoshiter need.

The answer 20 plus lol
