Drove from Wooler to Aberdeen today.
Fun in parts, biblical rain and headaches in others.

Currently in a Wetherspoons drinking beer, waiting for food.

It's still raining.

It always seems to be pouring and flooded when I drive to Wooler from Cumbernauld to see my mate!

I also noticed that both of these cars have their underpinnings in the 1980s but were registered in 2000 and have modern multivalve engines in lieu of the original 2 valve per cylinder units.

Have your neighbours converted thier garage into a room?

It should be a criminal offence.

Nice "nova" there.

I cringe every time I see a house so converted :(

Currently in a pub in Dundee, only my second trip to the land of Volvos and cornered sausage. Nice so far, drove through some shite weather around the border but it was sunny when we got here. Spending the rest of the week driving round looking at houses.

To be fair most modern garages won't fit a car in them anyway. Went round a mate's new build t'other week and it was noted I was the only person he knew that owned a car narrow enough that it might squeeze in and allow the driver to open the door...

It'd also be useless to me as the internal door opens into the living room, so my fleet would render the whole house stinking of petrol and oil in seconds.

Makes you think planning rules are wrong.  And there's mis-selling due to adverts saying it's a garage, when they should describe it as an integral shed.

Aye, it's like that here all the time. You get used to it.

It's actually stopped raining now, so old Mrs Hitler has got us out for a march.

I know cars don't [often *Vx excluded] combust.... I would not like to have one 'in the house'... Agreed >> many people use a 'car space' to out-build garage/extra bedroom onto a semi.

Side built or freestanding/side path would be my #choice

#.... never actually had a garage, except for M&D :)

I got hold of this R16 manual. Maybe good for Junkman?

Then I saw the address of the original owner, and then it became destined for him...

That’s the cortina sold. A guy came today and is driving it back to Somerset !

My car mojo is low just now so no immediate plan to replace it although we’ll see how that statement stands in 24hrs.

We arrived in Aberdeen today and by strange coincidence I'm sitting in a pub drinking beer. It isn't raining. Yet.

Advice

Avoid the scruffy lanky, ginger bearded bloke walking with the smartly dressed short brunette woman.

I avoid most people if I can help it. Seems to work alright
I hate "busy" so we're on the same page.
Another tip, avoid Naples.
Nice place, full of fucking people.

they don't look bad at all but it's the ones either side of the engine that are a worry on the mk2, not that easy to check from above but definitely worth checking out next time it's up on ramps and you've got the under tray off
