Given the messages on the next door door I’d be wary of rogue Parkers.

Such a British thing, garage a couple of doors down from mine has something along the lines of 'don't touch my stuff or I will find out where you live'...

Don’t beat yourself up with your lack of gearchanging ability DW . The clutch isn’t the best on the vectra. I think there is an underlying engine management issue that may be causing both the lack of torque and poor fuel consumption .It also misses and stinks of fuel on hot starts . The emissions are clean as a pin tho .

I like vectra b estates but the 2.0 dti I had before suites it more I think.

However for the money as a winter beater it’s hard to go wrong . Proper comfy on a long trip too.

Yeah it was one thing I was worried about before I took on the garage. Where it is, there is a yellow hatched no parking area which I guess others ignore.

I'm thinking of putting a former message on, as research suggests being nice on such signs don't work. Something along the lines of "This door must be kept clear at all times" and putting it on a properly made metal sign for added officialness.

There is a good sign on a building site near here. Might have to go back and take some photos. Basically "Nothing of enough value here to sell for heroin".

had a fruitless day at the unit battling the black mini.

dunno what if anything i've achived. put the grill back on, changed the weeping front dampers, fitted the window trims and also the body seam finishers.

should be a grump really as i've had a hell of a job just doing that, plus i think i've made a mess of the paintwork under one of the seam finishers. cos two fitted perfectly, one fitted eventually and one didn't want to know.

the replacement wing mirrors won't fit , and the stupid little screw fitting things won't fit in the relavent holes in the car doors. joy....

this little, ungratefull twat is going to fight us all the way....

in better news it does run, and runs quiet sweetly too......

I would go down every Saturday and use a grinder or welder just outside the doors for a few hours, sparks everywhere. People will soon stop parking there after that...

Today I finished servicing the daughters BINI (it only took me 2 weeks in total)

I replaced the air filter today, and it occurred to me that I may not EVER have replaced it since we got the car, some 26 K miles ago. The one that came out was very shitty.

Then I fixed the new rear wiper on and unblocked the washer jet.

Then I followed the instructions in the Haynes manual and turned off the oil service light.

Then I put all tyre pressures up to 32 psi and washed it.

Daughter is driving back to Cardiff, tomorrow so hopefully with new 4 electrode bosch plugs and new air filter, the fuel consumption will be better. I took it on a test drive and the mid range and bottom end are much better now.

I took the Bora TDi through the car wash at Sainsbury's. I was quite surprised to see the machine actually finish the process without stopping, unlike last time out.

See that big Italian lump at the end! Well there not on my nice list!

Send to replace a door glass on one. Gets the keys opens it up all very nice and Italian leather etc starts it up and it’s only a flipping derv! Any way takes Old glass out realising they have copied bmw with all switches and mechanisms etc

Fitted new glass goes to operate and it keeps stopping so I try and reset the bloody thing. But then it’s stuck at the bottom of the door! 3 and a half hours I was there!!! 3 and a half!!!!

Motor and Mec out Old glass in rammed to the top “take it to the dealers” well mr fancy pants wasn’t very happy with me blah blah blah

But wait... according to the dealer every time you replace the glass/disconnect anything inside the door it needs to be reset! At a cost of 350 quid!!!

Stupid stupid stupid car all moderns are shit etc give me a cavalier any day ha

Jut had an Omega estate tugged back 20 miles, I got a bite with a post on facebook asking for transport and two lads aid they would frame it back, I think tugging 1.7 tonnes  with a renault kangoo van was optimistic and it never went over 25 mph all the way back,

DFS too! I didn't think they did site wide ones at 50% often.

I’ve kind of run out of reasons not to put my cortina in for its mot. I think I just need to take a deep breath and do it next week.

Also thinking of selling the maestro and getting another modem ruinous barge as I never use it.

That Focus 'Collection' I bought a few weeks ago seems to be turning into a good idea quite quickly. Someone is selling the kit (bumpers, skirts and grille) off one for £150 more than I paid for the car itself!

Shouldn't there be a chrome and enamel AA or RAC badge as well?

Possibly, I’m in the rac through Aviva insurance not directly. But I don’t like the badge. A friend has a POW Survivor’s grill badge on his s class. that is quite smart!

Sell it to Stuboy lol.

Got the SD1 going today. The battery is on the small side, even with a booster it is a bastard to get going - easy start is required sometimes. Tomorrow I will check the timing.
