Hey mercrocker, you're not far from me. If you ever see one of these two trundling around give us a wave.

Not sure if shite or modern. Probably shit. Arguably SMOL.

Long Exposure Swift 2 by MattLikesCars, on Flickr

Bought it as a stop-gap until I found something more interesting. That was three and a half years ago... Averages over 50 MPG and basically refuses to break thus I can find little reason to replace it. Absolutely nobody cares about these in the UK but they have enough of a following in the US of A to have their own forum.

Bought this from The Shadow as a stopgap about a year back. It has been my only working car ever since.

I remember your Mini DW! Didn't you have a stack load of restored work done on it?

Yup. Spent a fortune on it. Then we moved to Wales, and rust started moving in again. So we sold it. Sharpish.

My daily since January. Will hopefully continue to be my daily for a few years yet. 142,000 miles now. Bought at 134,000. Been looked after though.

Autobox also FTW.

Oh sorry to hear, hopefully sortable?

The two I've got on the road at the moment. The Rover was bought from ebay for £50,it was sold as spares or repair due to possible overheating problems. The coolant was bubbling up due to the cap not sealing properly, fitted a new cap & it's been fine since January. It came with 6 months MOT,there's still a month left.It was going to be broken for parts for my MG Express, but was too good to break so I bought another one for parts instead.

The Volvo gets used mainly at weekends,or when I feel like more than 84 bhp  :-D

I feel I must add I live less than two miles from work and 8 miles from our workshop... but it does do regular 300+ mile round trips.

Daily 'modern' is a five year old V70 that has just passed 180k kms. It owes me cos its needed some money spending on it recently. Its annoyed me but I will get my own back.

Bought from off of here a couple of years ago, it does about 12000 miles a year.

I also have this

It hates me, I've spent a load of money sorting it out so I don't use it now and will probably sell it soon (and see how much money I can lose on it).

Well someone's gotta drive it....

Cavalier 1.7 diesel of the non turbo variety. Epic misery spec.

This is my Volvo 940 td, caught on google earth. She's a lovely old bus with more miles than the starship enterprise. Smokey, rattly and with some epic lacquer peel. I've had it long enough that it owes me nothing.

Should crack the magic 200k this year. I hesitate to call it shite as it's so comfortable, reliable and actually quick now I've removed the broken bits of catalyst from the exhaust.

I'm not sure I can call this shite either, it should have been at the price but it's a bloody nice car to drive & apart from two small leaks everything works pretty much as it should.

My every other day vehicular hack for the last six years, a 2000 Primera 1.8 Sport. Think I paid £550 for it, been quite faithful as was its predecessor a 1992 Primera. But then it is a Nissan. I should really buy them up and stockpile them so I can have them for my remaining years.

One or the other of these two, Diesel for work and Petrol for the weekend.... or MrsDs Yaris behind them when I need to park in Waitrose's stupidly smol parking spaces

His 'n' Hers. Not used every day but they're all the cars I'll ever need really. Anything else is just pure want!

A spare 405, you're a lucky bugger Carlo. I'd have really liked that thing :(
