Pompei's Pixels - WTF!?!

This was in Tesco car park yesterday. I was busy snapping when the old chap turned up. It was originally a Mini Marcos which he has owned and modified* over the last 40 years. Now running a Mondeo 1.6.  Best car in the whole car park

Epic.

He needs to ditch the maestro wheel trims for these though:

Is Jem Marsh still alive? He needs to see this.

Sadly, both Mr Mar and Mr Cos are no longer with us.

That is glorious! How did we not know about this before?

I hope you gave him an Autoshite sticker and told him where to come and sell it if he ever gives up driving!

Not Maestro, but fake BMW E30/34. They used to  be everywhere in the mid-2000s, much like how those fake Vectra C trims are everywhere now.

It is a bit challenging in the looks department.

Still far less ugly than current model Mini Countryman.

I've had a couple of Pillock Measure G&Ts, I'm going to have to bookmark this thread and come back to it in the morning as it might be like that time I drank too much and was convinced I'd bought some new trainers from Amazon and got really upset that they didn't arrive but it turns out I never bought them.

Basically, my brain can't comprehend that vehicle.

There's been some seriously impressive spots recently.

Jesus fucking Christ, I'm having a seizure just looking at it. I assume it was lengthened to make space for the owner's massive balls.

"it's a good car this, it's just not quite big enough and hasn't got enough doors. I could get a different car, but I think on reflection it will be better to chop this one in half, lengthen it and make/fit a pair of rear doors for it from scratch"

That must absolutely flipping shift with a modern 1.6.

Do you think he even realises?

If it's the same man that created this wonderful example of automotive jiggery pokery he probably does.

Find of the decade.

This is actually amazing! I thought the days of old blokes driving round in home-brew cars was long gone, but this chap is still flying the flag. Brilliant.

It is incredible that with the reach of this place, this has only just come to light.  Amazing.

Ace spot, I bet 'mechanicals' are his bag and whilst he can do 'bodywork', paint is his least favourite task.  I'd wager that mechanically this is like a switch watch.

If he's been at it for 40 years, that's quite short in Kit Car circles, some never get finished.

Does his 'wife' drives a modifield Reliant Regal ?

The challenge is beating the system and defying protocol 'ennit'

That Reg is worth a bit to Mr Bhetoven Tweddell

Came back to it this morning.

HOLY SHIT.

*Goes back to bed*
