Mondeo man in a tracksuit- ST24 estate FOR SALE £200

I have a Mk3 ST220 and it's a job I keep pondering, even though the Mk3’s don't have a known issue with them. It's on 115k and I'd hate for it to be terminated by a failed water pump, because these engines almost never survive being overheated. I had a close call a few years back when a broken hose clip caused it to leak a load of coolant, fortunately I stopped and noticed before it got low enough to be a problem.

On the other hand I think to myself if it isn't broken, don't fix it until it is.

All I remember about V6 Mondeos is that when Performance Car had one of the first basic, plastic wheel trimmed ones as a test car they were so impressed that John Barker asked Ford to take away the V6 Probe long term test car and replace it with the Mondeo.

Oh, and Essex Police had an estate with big brakes and OZ alloys that was always hanging around Stansted long after the Mk3 was available, must have been 7 or 8 years old .

Company I worked at once upon a time had a derv Ghia-x one of these, back when it was brand new, modern cars are crap...

Lift off oversteer is the first thing that always comes to my mind, probably provoked more by my crap driving style than a fault with the car, but it was the only car where I could get it to swap ends without much effort.

I've just been searching for cheap V6s, and these popped up on my radar. Looks nice.

I'm after one of these in facelift salon flavor. The rear of the 4 door is a masterpiece (love the rear lamps) and a v6 would be lovely.

Preferably in that rare but not unheard of deep purple hue.

/Fap

i presume your talking about dark aubergine, if so its a bloody beautiful colour

i know its an escort cosworth but it was the best example showing the colour in the light on google images

That's the chap!!

Someone was hawking a MK1 2.5 Mondeo on FB back in the summer.  He was asking "what'd people pay for this?" which made me think he was selling it.  What it actually meant is he was buying it, and was looking for a mug he could flip it to immediately.  If it was a MK1.5 I'd probably have bitten.

Mk1 Mondeos are worth pennies these days, £3-500. One day they'll undoubtedly come under OSF tax and be priced accordingly. Probably good idea to buy now whilst they are cheap.

As I was filling up at the pump on the trip back I'd already decided to bin the current gopping damaged and wrong font plates and ordered a new set on the original font through DMB graphics. Once again theyve come up trumps with a great set of westcountry dealer plates and rear window sticker to match the original westountry registration....

Thats a cracking buy, definately the best looking Mondeo by a country mile.

I had a 2.0 Ghia Mk1 a few years ago and it was a decent drive right until the autobox explodated on the A45 at 2 in the morning in the middle of December, even with that I'd gladly have another to smoke about in.

I love this car more and more everytime i look at it. Those plates really set it off. Gorgeous!

I really like these. They're thinning out big time too, to the point I've actually started paying attention when I see one. I

've always fancied a 2.0 Zetec for some reason I just think these were built for that engine. I could live with av6 too of course.

I think that one is now for sale again for spears and reapers.

I had an ST24 saloon with the rasp kit on, it only had about 40K on the clock when I got it, It was waaay better than the Cougar V6 I had a few years later.

Never had a problem with the plastic impellor waterpump itself, (a problem with the early black ones - later white ones are fine) the problem in my case was a loose metal restrictor piece that would spin with the pump and eat its way through the alloy housing and start leaking. the give away was a tinkling noise...

Well I've not covered that many miles in this lately. It seemed to go a bit off tune; over about 3000 revs it would be flat and struggle to rev where it used to pull even more strongly and torque steer up the road. Unsure how

Much of that was chassis design or the shit tyres it has. Anyway, after investigating it turns out the control unit that opens up more of the inlet manifold had died. I Bought a recon one from an overseas vendor on E bay. I Iiked the enthusiasm of the vendors listing, and although some may be lost in translation I got the vibe he was a genuine enthusiast................

! ONE IN THE WOLRD FULLY REBUILT IMRC FORD ACTUATOR BETTER THAN NEW !

! LIFETIME PART FROM FORD PASSIONATE !

IMRC is a module that controls the inlets in the lower intake manifold, when the module is damaged or worn Doloty open when you do not have to be at all.

The result of driving with a damaged IMRC is the lack of power, larger combustion and increased engine wear and related parts.

Many people think that it is enough to move the module to another location, where it will be less susceptible to high temperatures, which mainly destroy the module.

Nothing could be further from the truth, and many of my tests and all sorts of attempts to come to the ideal solution to IMRC work for years, always and everywhere, no matter what the temperature would not prevailed.

IMRC, which offer a renewed almost the entire plate with all the components on it.

Some IMRC have new gear wheels, and even motor.

New items are also on the cable min. plastic interference, which can burst and a plastic clip, which also is the weak link.

The price includes a 100% working, complete (cable, hook) and tested IMRC that will work for years.

In my two Cougarach use made by me those are IMRC over 8 years, even on a racetrack in the 40 degree heat when under the hood is the oven works flawlessly.

IMRC fit models:

Ford Cougar 2.5 V6 1998-2002

MK2 Ford Mondeo 2.5 V6 1996-2000

MK2 Ford Mondeo 2.5 V6 ST200 205km 1996-2000

Ford Mondeo MK3 2.5 V6 2000-2007

Ford Focus ST170 2.0 1998-2007

Ford Taunus 3.0 V6

Ford Contour 2.5 V6 93-2007

Ford Taurus 3.0 V6 96-06

Ford Mystique 2.5 V6

The entire unit together with the plug is perfectly sealed and protected against moisture and dirt, gears greased, all components protected.

I do not recommend buying any of these drugs that are available, most of them are damaged or after a while and just stop working.

All these tales, it reinforced the ST200 is a lie and a hoax, and that the module was briefly used.

Any questions, please send an e-mail .

! MY PART IS BETTER THAN NEW !

My modules are months of work, tests and trials on my Cars .

Regenerate also provided me modules (including mail order courier).

We buy all the modules in any, no matter what condition.

When ordering more individual pricing, here's a good offer for Clubs / Forum Fords.

For an additional fee, I powder painted

After 3 weeks the box of tricks arrived last week.....

post-4673-0-98453200-1484257720_thumb.jpg

After plumbing it back it a quick run on my test route shows not only has it restored the top end, if anything it seems to pull more cleanly up to the red line than it ever did before.

I've decided to move this on due to the impending purchase of something different. It runs and drives fine, the starter is a bit noisy and it will come with a good secondhand replacement to go on. It feels very quick, and the engine and box are lovely. The clutch release bearing is a bit noisy- no slipping and it bites well and thankfully no DMF to worry about on these. Theres a small dent in one door and rust in the usual mondeo place of rear arch/ back of sills. The rsap ford body kit shows no signs of the usual mondeo damage aside from a couple of scuffs. The original alloys are in great condition but one tyre gradually looses air over a couple of weeks. ST24 estates are very rare things, this isn't perfect but is smart enough and has MOT untill next October. Shiters price £200

Ill get some more Pics when I can....post-4673-0-64800900-1484486788_thumb.jpg

For the sake of fuck.

I was looking for an ST24 before the Raver came.  I'm now out of space, out of luck, out of everything.

Next time.

That's too cheap, surely! I'd love to be able to take this one but I have no need for it but I'm going to be kicking myself about the time that i missed out on a sorted practical ST24 wagon for less than the price of a dishwasher.

Jeepers. I'm glad there's a claim in already! To think, I was going to spend £200 on a bass guitar. Musical instruments end up looking like crap value compared to what you find on Autoshite.

Holy shit. That's less than a chap wanted for a v plate 1.8 lx with no sills or boot floor

That's a seriously, seriously cheap car for someone.

Massive bargain and a very useful, pretty quick and very rare car, to boot!
