I saw this at the Tatton car show last year. It nearly is an XJR too.

I'm disappointed that XJ40 is on a Mercedes 'S' Class, but that is one step better than XJ81 which doesn't seem to be on anything at all.

Well, back to lurking... :)

Hey Magnificent Rustbucket, don't go back to "Lurking" Make a thread and feel at home :D (You are a local too, extra points from me  )

Nice Irish number plate seen on a coach in Ludlow yesterday:

Did they have to queue up for the first plate issued in Tipperary this year or do they have personal numbers in Ireland too?

Apologies if I've posted this one already, but the plate languished on a Volvo estate for ages, and is now where it belongs! (at considerably more cost than the car I imagine...)

most US vanity plates are thoroughly cheesey and this one is no exception. He's so crazy he stuck red stripes on his car.

That's nice. That's much better than a personal statment (B16 COK). Shows a bit of thought, and I bet it didn't even cost too much unlike a lot of plates that spell a word.I don't normally like "this is what car I drive" (X5 xxx or V70 xxx spring to mind) plates, but I did see some VW dealer offering P010 xxx plates with every new Polo. Just tell them what three letters you want and they'll try to get it for your new car. That was kinda cool to attract punters who were probably looking for a Polo anyway.

Saw one in Newport the other month on a Discovery I think? Anyway it was a very simple Plate using 3E but they used the same font for the 3 as the E so it looked like a symbol!

Looked the number up on the personal reg sites and it was up for a cool 275,000 F.F.S... - that's madness!

The enquiry is complete

The vehicle details for 3 E are:

Date of Liability 01 06 2010

Date of First Registration 23 05 1994

Year of Manufacture 1994

Cylinder Capacity (cc) 3947CC

CO2 Emissions Not Available

Fuel Type Petrol

Export Marker Not Applicable

Vehicle Status Licence Due to Expire

Vehicle Colour GREEN

Vehicle Type Approval

My ex kickboxing champion 'Principal' has a registration plate B12AVO because his surname is Bravo. His black Merc is always in for repairs though!

I can't remember the exact lettering but there was a white Audi TT whose plate effectively read MY 08 TTThere's a yellow Porsche with GE02 OFF, I'm guessing they're called GeoffI took a plate off a scrapped Sierra that reads C888 WHO and a family friend gave me the plates from their old Metro: C539 OCK.There is a black Metrocab around here with T4 XSYI know a vehicle that has 10 VE which I think is a really nice plate. I like the word itself so maybe that's why.My favourite is a phone pic I took of a Fiesta with MUS 1CI'll post the pic some day. Wish I could buy it for my friend who's a singer.I have a couple of ideas for plates but keeping them to myself as I want to buy them eventually, although as someone said they had felt a dick after buying one, i think i will too. I wish that you could have just a zero for the number, as I could then have my name, AAR 0N.Got any suggestions for one I could put on my BMW 635? currently A2 GYA which means nothing to me and didn't seem to be the initials of the last owner either.

They'd have to use a modern style plate CO06 GAR!

Got a couple, will post pics when I can. Took a pic of a Maxi near Dudley, parked next to it was a Vauxhall Combo Van with R700FRS.

Near there at a small Saw making factory is a Volvo 850 with SAW5.

A Rover 800 with A256.

Another Rover 800 Coupe with N1TRO

A mate of mine has B12RAD.

Once saw a Passat with S70LEN

There is alot of 2/3/4 digit number plates on Chelsea tractors mostly driven by stuck-up types.

Nearly bought 4-digit plate once from creep-bay for less than a £1000.

Crap photos are still good :) Naturally E24 BMW was taken, which is a shame as it looks like a plate you'd see on a brochure pic. Would've loved that.

Here's some more:

Saw a gentleman carefully washing his black Ford Ka, the plate said B1 GKA

There's a Mini near here with 6 Y. Not sure if it's supposed to say sixty or sexy but plates that short get my attention anyway.

One I saw today on a blinged up, show off Mercedes outside some clothing shops, was DEN 1M.

I love that Volvo SAW5 plate. Nice plate for the situation

I was undertaken on the A46/A17 thingimabobbie yesterday by one of those gigantic American Ford pickups, the one that you can get Northampton in the back of. It was huge. It was undertaking me for quite some time, despite going quite fast.

The plate? "20mm"

Spotted in Didsbury in 2007 after I'd failed my evening course in Psychology. Mainly because work were being twats with the late shifts.

ooooh, there is a right nice pub that does lots of different cheeses there isnt there? Though my local used to be the Barleycorn though. We used to poke fun at Curley who was a right piss head.

That plate lives on a BMW X5 near me now. Always gives me a smile. Locally, there's also SL05EXB, which appeals to my inner Sid James. The post 2001 reg's have thrown up some goodies here, due to many of the plates starting SN, SL and ST. So there's a fair few SN07's, SN06's and the likes.

My two all time favourites are TDS5A, which turned up on a drug dealer's black BMW 5-series in The Bill many moons ago; and J33PEH, subtly spaced to read J33P EH, on a Jeep Cherokee in Tranent.

Personally I'd have UBE45T. Just for comedy value.

I see that OBO110X has been mentioned a few times, there was also MBO110X on a fiesta running around Barry many years ago, not sure if that has survived.

Also many years ago when I was driving in central London behind a Bedford CF van I was surprised that it had a private plate NO 5, it was a while before I noticed Chanel signwritten on the back doors.

MBO110X is now on: 2003 BMW 320D SPORT SILVER

no sign of NO 5 now though...

I saw this Clio 1.2 Dynamique today outside a Renault garage, I was expecting it to be a fake plate but it is it's proper one according to the DVLA site.

There are no SN07s at all.

I'm really beginning to wonder now...:? I'm sure I've seen some. Sure I have, over here in Fife, I must have a look about. Still, that explains where that TN plate came from.
