It's a consular plate, issued in the UK to a foreign consulate.

We have either a Merc or BMW (can't remember which) in Perth with the reg FLY 8E.

 

I also saw recently a white van with the reg M1 NCE (hopefully a butcher's van).

I used to see a range rover with D81 TCH on it spaced out to read D 81TCH, the plate was a proper pisstake, letters in the wrong font on a clear plate with a yellow border round each letter, then I saw it as a proper plate but still spaced out wrong, obs been pulled, then the last time I saw it it said D81 TCH , threatened with confiscation I guess

No picture but a story - when I was a kid (this was probably in the mid 80's) I remember my dad telling me he'd seen the number plate 131LLY spaced to say "Billy", I think on a Capri.

Fast forward to Monday, I'm popping round my mum's and in front of me is a skip lorry bearing the number 131LLY...strange that it had stayed in my head for 30+ years!
