Great number plates - got any?

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/show ... p?t=617609Car licence plates which bear the sequence SN07 were banned from the streets of Edinburgh because they are "offensive", it has emerged. The plate had been due to follow on from the SN56 registration in March. Licensing officials at the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) changed the plate to TN07 to avoid it being similar to the word "snot". The change means that cars registered in the capital are the only ones in Scotland not to begin with an S. A DVLA spokesperson said the decision to change the plates was taken to avoid offending car buyers in the capital.

Good comment - I wondered why I'd seen so many locally sourced cars with the TN pre-fix...

My Super Cub is SN14 but my new purchase 125cc came with a decent plate SP15UTZ - which I refer to as Spy Suits now...

I imagine Mr Dheeraj Singh was delighted when his two sons bought him a private numberplate for his 50th birthday.

I imagine he's now frustrated with people making assertions about his small penis.

TF07 was also issued, along with TJ07; no idea why SF07 and SJ07 were an issue unless they were overspill.

In other news spat tea all over the interior of the 850 a couple of weeks ago when my wife asked why the Focus in front had a registration which said WOGS (WO65). She's clearly spent too much time with me.

A11 SET is a good one locally, it's on a Tigra, I think it used to be on an MR2 or an MGF or something.

I see P1ANS around too.

I think the whole thing was fabricated to make people think that a 7 could be read as a T, so they could sell more plates. It would never have occurred to anybody otherwise because a 7 isn't anything like a T.

I had a genuine lol yesterday when I spied a 6750cc Rolls Royce Shadow with a very ambitious plate.

40 MPG

I've just seen A11 and P11 (spaced to look like P1) on a pair of McLaren's being loaded into a truck.

And just now, BUG1A on a Bugatti Veyron.

Someone at work has PU06EOT - on a Bini.

Followed something - 106/Aygo thingy with YE55 Jes - tried for a photo but could barely see the result.

Sorry, night shot. Doom blue Mondeo estate.

I like model-related plates...... being about the car rather than the owner makes it much less of a vanity thing.

Edit - You must never look inside this car, however.

That ST08ART plate has been worn on various trucks of ol' Eddie's so I'd imagine the A8L currently wearing it is his lads. Can't see them selling that on.

A111 McLaren is on page 109 when I spotted it in Hamilton last year.

Two today.

ST08ART - with an Eddie Stobart logo under it.

And to reinforce the 'Stobart drive like twats' stereotype, it was on a black Audi A8L.

A5 PER on a five door Saab 900.
