Been idly looking at trains and I almost hope I don't win, but wouldn't mind if I did...

Tell me about it. Cheapest and quickest route is from MK and it's nearly £100 and takes nearly three hours. That, plus a day's insurance (I won't be able to pick it up until 21st although would make arrangements if necessary), and the petrol to get back, and I may as well have paid the full whack outright! :-D

I recognise Bealach na ba in the picture; the highest unbroken climb in the UK, starting from sea level rising to over 2000ft. I pedalled up it on a bike. I hope for the sake of the winner the car's  not as bollocksed as I was when I got to the top.

Paid.

£170 train fare for potential collection. Zoinks!

May have also spent the last two hours rereading the Rovamota's history on here and the blue. 12/10 WOOD REED AGAIN

£170 + petrol to collect a car that you won in a raffle ... That's pretty much the logic used by most in this place.

If anyone asks though ... it cost £3.40 for a raffle ticket

I seems to have missed this one and all tickets are gone gone gone

Therefore, for the budding* touts I hereby offer £7 for a spare ticket

I've seen people cycle up it, sodding nutters. Almost as mad as the ones I've seen cycling the Alps.

What kind of gold plated trains are people booking for £170? Can do MK to Bradford for 41 quid via tickety split, although it is a 4 hour slog via Manchester.

If anyone wants to hire me as a cheap train ticket consultant, I'd only charge 50% of whatever i save you over a 1st class sameday single.

Fuck me, is that where it is! That's nine hours from me, in a car. Prolly worth it though, they were good cars and it's been tickled by the resident Roverfiddler.

Paid by the way.

You can have my two, could someone reassign them? I haven't paid yet so you could pay directly.

I do love that car but need it like a hole in the head at the moment.

I seem to be able to get it down to £80 if I get to reading first...

My plan, if I win is to offer my zx to someone oop norf for free, if they can drive me to the rover/meet me there, it's worth as much as the train fare...

I never win though, so I won't do nowt yet

I have emailed Flat4alfa to see if he wants to swap tickets.

Pricing up the train is for losers. Buy tickets, fingers crossed, sod the consequences.
