Black weekend. not renault 20 plus other collection's

we drive for 15 minutes and arrive at the 4th stash and its opels

this capri was outside and reasonably tidy apart from a wing and a rear arch.

then inside opel heaven

not one but two low millage convertibles,

I couldn't quite take a decent photo but there was enough spares inside this shed to keep these two cars going for the next twenty years, rows of lights, complete interiors, engines, boxes, struts, probably enough to build a few cars

 

I think that will have to do tonight as I've got work tomorrow so I will have to call time at the halfwayish stage..

okay one more stash then,

another 20 minute drive and we arrive at the fifth stash and unfortunately they are a bit close for good pictures but here they are anyway. the mgb was absolutely minted, so at the back mk1 golf rally car, mk1 rs2000, astra gsi rally car, mk2 rs2000 rally car, astra coupe, and another corsa/nova rally car which I seem to have missed a pic,

this is a genuine mk2 rs 2000 and in full rally spec, he reckoned it had 200ps,

and another genuine mk1 rs in full rally spec and again he reckoned 200ps,

I couldn't get a full on shot of the astra but it was also a full on rally car with red top,

 

that's it this time will start round two tomorrow evening.

Nighttime departures, turbo death jeopardy, questionable foreign cuisine, big potential for farcical Allo allo language misunderstandings, spur of the moment rescheduling and all leading up to discovery of the biggest cache of quality chod I think I've ever heard of! Two countries away!

okay here we go again for round two.

 

After the last stash I was just gobsmacked and had literally lost ways to explain to the guy just how much I was appreciating his hoard, as we where heading farther up into the hills once more I thought yup we have seen the best,

we arrived at a complex of sheds once more and outside was more opels, an old transit and a vw camper van.

once the garage was open we walked in and all along the side walls where axles gearboxes engines wings doors infact pretty much any spares you could ask for for mk1 escorts,

The infamous mk1 capri,

only full fat 3 litre here.

and some more glass in various engine sizes, I take it we never got these in the yuk,

and this sweet little car was very nice indeed

 

by this time we have well and truly missed our 3pm train but that was the last thing on our mind while we drooled over this guys cars, so that's it for stash 6 and we thought time to get motering up the road, eh nope wrong
