I am going to have to visit Hadleigh to pap that now...

Acclaim now gone?

Can the owner of the abandoned silver shoe, please report to pump number three.

Straight in with the money shot.

None of this Ginsters-pasty-train-seat-pattern-Woollarding-with-the-vendor preamble.

I like it.

Acclaim gone, this bought with some of the proceeds. :)

Kewl!

You should set up an owners group.

Hello, and welcome to Jazz Club. Nicesh!

Posted

It is a Jazz, not a City.

I'd probably be the only member of the club, but at least there'd be no disagreements!

Very happy to see this in the family, it looked a proper sweetie when it popped up in the tat thread.  Swansea number plates too - my father had A729VEP (a Maestro 1.3L in Oporto red).

Posted

Yes, but I have to ask- what is it?

Edit: some masochist also appears to have done 84,000 miles in it while only listening to test match special. They're not all locked up you know!

These things look awesome and that one looks a little peach.  I hope you mostly just clean the nads off it and drive it around, it doesn't need anything else to be super cool.

That's nice!

Didn't they make alloys specifically for this model? I'm sure someone on here was saying they had some Jazz mags hidden away in the corner of their shed.

My wife was driving a red one when I first met her.... amazing how accommodating such little car can be...

It isn't quite as good as the pics make out. The bonnet is a bit rough and it has had a rear end shunt, and has been repaired to mot standard only. The bloke who sold it to me said it had been in storage (he didn't mention a barn) for a while. I checked the tax disc and it appears that it was last on the road in 2008.

Looks oddly 'futuristic'. That could also read as ugly/cute.

Looks tidy enough and I must admit I have never, ever seen one before. Parts situation?

Posted

I'm not optimistic about parts situation tbh. I think it is a design that sort of blends in a bit better than other 80s cars do. When I tell people it is 31yr old most are surprised.

I think you misheard about the Jazz mags.

Didn't these have a viewable section of washer bottle in the drivers door shut so you can see the level ?

Posted

This has cheered me right up  :-D

These are the jazz mags

And no, I don't know where you can get a set from

There's tonnes of the buggers still on the roads here, so I reckon parts shouldn't be too difficult for you to find if need be. However, you'd have to specify air freight so the parts turn up before it's sold!  ;-)

There's even a few of the Turbo's knocking about but these are all Japanese imports. Here's one I spotted a few years back (with bonus giffer driver):
