Of all the people I know you’re the least likely to need to borrow an appropriate car for any meetings.

Or indeed, an inappropriate one...

omg i just watched a brummie whos rebuilding a six cyl spec range rover after someone lightly rolled it into a ditch (!)

hes facelifting it to 2018 and hes putting the lights on and the svr bits too

the lights were 3500 second hand !!?!?!!111111one!!!!!!11111

thats completely insane - chris buy some protectors for yours quick

i found out how much the led light was for the bike and for the sake of a 20 quid piece of plastic - no way im paying that if it breaks

I walked past a place this morning that immediately made me think of the FOD. HEadley, heading under the m25. A silver spirit with a shadow on a trailer behind, plus a red jag xjs and blue mini with union flag on the roof.

The dip switch caught me out, I asked slowsilver to check the lights on my borrowed car this afternoon and it took me a minute to find the dip switch because it is floor mounted.

Did you find the headlight flasher?  That took me a while to work out when I bought my Mk1.

I did not look for it, but I did pull/push everything until I found the floor dip switch.

I exchanged Whatsapps with Mark from the Garage last night and thought his reply to using my Ami was great! "I went slower round the second corner"

I miss my Mk1 - the ex kept it sadly....... I'd love another if I can find a semi decent one.

Also a reminder I need to dig out the Mk2 and get it back on the road......been too long.

After the ball last night my posh carriage turned back into a pumpkin pulled by mice today!

The good news is I have been offered the loan of the 2000 again for next months Triumph Club.

Except the Corolla which was part of our group. Maybe lack of twin head lights is why it turned to face the fence!

Found some of the details.  E28  BMW 528 Ci, 2788cc Reg number, B214RLM, Alpine white, first registered March 1985.  Pleased to say it is still taxed and MOTd, to July this year.  Still looking for the mag. The car was left unused for several years. The person I bought it from was a journalist, or friend of one, and wrote an article about re-commissioning it that was published in late 1990s. It was from that article I put an offer in, and it was accepted. I had it for 3 -4 years, and enjoyed it.  I was informed by a BMW specialist that where the bulkhead and front of floor joins it had rotted out across the width of the car, as well as other areas, and repair was "not practical" . Obviously that was not the case, as more than 10 years on, it is still on the road.  I know that mag is somewhere!

Found a pic of it here on AS

Who is it?

IMG_6378.JPG

Oh, hai!  What did you need?  Pictures of the Pink moped?  Ah yes:

IMG_6398.JPG

As opposed to those indirect bikes, naturally.

IMG_6385.JPG

You did how many miles like that?  Actually, I don't want to know.

Except not really, as it's not a runner.  Fix it?

To counter the pinkness.  Something way way cooler.  Unfortunately fairly broken still:

The rust is a tadge worrying though.

IMG_6410.JPG

And it desperately needs the carburettors setting up for the engine.  And the brakes not to pull so badly you change lane under gentle braking.  And the fuel leak sorting.  USW...

They only ever made 371 mk1 PI estates and the survivors are in single figures so even if it is a replica its still a very welcome sight. Much jealousy here.
