Such as an entire rust free guilietta.

I have spoken to the seller on the phone now and he says I bought it too cheaply and the carburettors were worth what I paid!

Deal is final, no?

I was thinking about needing to press gang one shiter to make my dream come true of the Metro and VP1500 going to BL day!

It looks like I might have more volunteers than I was thinking, that is great because I have the Metro, VP 1500, but also Sovereign S1, Sovereign S2 and MGB GT that all qualify for pre 1997 BL. Then I have my Vitesse, although currently running so badly that it is not fit to go the 11 miles.

Wouldn't the E-type also be eligible? Or is that still broken too?

Spits back though the Carburettors and I have done nothing, also Jaguar 1966 was that BL then?

No, 1968.

Dibs on driving the MGB if nobody else (owner included!) has called it.  It's over a decade since I last drove one and about time I reminded myself why I really do still want one.

Would love something BMC on fleet (pretty sure *bits* of Invacar don't count), but getting another car would be more than my life is worth just now!  Absolutely definitely until after the Lada goes.

If you won it on an auction it sold for what people wanted to pay,

Hope he doesn't become a dick about it.

Is an MG Express eligible for this BL day, or is it actual BL chod only?

It is supposed to be pre 1997.

Oh testicles.

They park some non complaint cars just the other side of the fence, rather than the normal car park.

Well they don't make you cover over VWs!☺️

It's a shame that frogeye got relegated into there and surely the RV8 next to it should have been eligible too

I have offered the Thursday 5th or Friday 6th Sep as collection dates for the Giulietta, the seller says cancel the transaction if I can't do it sooner.

What is a reasonable time to collect a non-running Ebay car?

A week seems fine but he’s trying to back out. I expect if you said 8am tomorrow he’d say he wasn’t in.

Yes, agreed with the above.  I’d try to accelerate it as much as possible just to annoy him further.

Our BMW 735i SE passed its MOT today without any real bother after a 1 year rest.

Trouble is that it is the first date my local transport company can do. I think if I went else where it would cost a lot more and the seller has asked the driver to bring cash rather than paypal or bank transfer and I trust this transport company to do that for me.

Those were later arrivals and the only reason they were that side of the fence was that there was no more room in the main show field - rather more cars turned up than expected. Last year someone managed to sneak a Vauxhall Victor into the main field!

Have you asked him what date he wants it collecting?

Can you get a trailer and grab it with the range rover?

You go for the Mgb, I feel I’m more of a Daimler person ;-)

As the buyer wants cash and has whinged already about the carburettors being worth more than your winning bid, ask your collection driver to open the bonnet before loading it for collection and check they are all there, just in case the seller tries to pull a stunt...

Thinking back to the issues you've been having with the E-Type spitting back through one of the carbs...

It's quite a while since she's been on the road hasn't it.  What are the odds on a sticking valve or carb piston (SUs on this aren't they?) being to blame?  Compression test might help track down the culprit if it's a sticky valve...

A mate of mine has had best part of a dozen over the years and we've learned they are cars which really don't like sitting around.  This exactly the sort of thing they'll do just out of spite!

You'll have to take us out for a spin once she's sorted out though.  They're such special things but I don't think I've ever actually sat in one.  Wonder if I'll be as impressed as I was by the Lancia (which is officially on my lotto win garage wish list now).

I personally hope we can get it parked next to dolly or dolly parked next to the E type

"Got the AC and E Type together"

"Oh you got an AC now? 2 famous sports cars parked together that would make for an epic photo!"

"Ye-yeah..."

The problem started when we changed the carburettor diaphragms because the rubber had hardened and slit, the front carb was pissing petrol out. I feel the problem is in tuning.
