It has been a long time coming but the shipping container is finally at the FoD. Even today was filled with obstacles.  Quicksilver will give a full report as I was only there at the end for the success.

Oooh can we sit in it on Saturday?

Or is it full already?

What you need is a big bit of tarp fixed right across the side then some posts in the ground 5ft away... @hairnetcan stand in the middle and push it up occasionally if it rains

Hope you all have fun with it! I'd love to be there for the first train but unfortunately exams next week mean I'm phoning in sick until the June meet.

Never mind me, I've just looked at the pictures again and realised where the container has ended up, so much easier. For some reason I'd forgotten that part of the yard* exists, and that the lorry had gone round by the black Range Rover.

I'd still struggle to get an artic through there mind.

For Saturday evening Mrs6C has prepared a pile of fire wood for the enclosed garden fire pit.

Good point, Instead of drinking tequilero by the pool there are a few fixey things to keep you entertained!

  • BMW 3.0 S E3 - fit fuel filter, points, condenser, plug leads, distributor cap and rotor arm.
  • Mercedes 230TE - fit replacement drivers seat base.
  • Citroen Ami 8 - fit new front shock absorbers

I wonder if @Six-cylinder's Ami will be there? having driven a 2CV im quite eager to see what the 2 major derivative types are like in comparison :) (although I dont know if the actual field portion is available? or if its full of lambs again!)

so I am more then happy to help* out, especially so if I can blag a drive around the FoD :) not that I can claim to be any good at mechanical work, it took me about one and a half hours just to replace the ground strap on my car...

regardless I am pleased to hear the Dyane will be visiting once more I was disappointed in myself that I missed it the last 2 times, so hopefully 3rd times the charm!

same with @Crackers's in the Landy, after I missed @mat_the_cat's visit with his Landy! I am glad there will still be one there for me to look over :)

Shame your not insured as it wouldn't probably be more fortuitous to just set fire to that entire pile there then claim you don't know how it started...

I'm starting to come round to the idea of maybe camping over now.

Ami will be there.

Bad news on the field, while there are no animals at the moment, where the heavy horses have been in the field it is very bumpy. I took the Mercedes 230TE out into the field the other day and it is so rough that I would not want any of my cars driven around it.

Anybody with a 20 Ton roller please bring it with you!
