I love Omegas and at that price it is great. I saw a 3.2 Elite the other day that looked a lot like this and probably would be much more expensive to buy and insure.

 

However, those would come with the V6 soundtrack, which is something that this is sadly missing.

 

I still would though, but the usual excuses apply.

The 2.2 16v in the Omega is god-awful. Lumpy and rough and as thirsty as the smaller V6s without any go whatsoever.

I've driven three of them, one giffer owned and thrown at W Grose whenever something went amiss. I was desperate to like it because it was an Elite and an estate with every extra going. But nope. Awful engine.

 

For £200 it'd be fine, of course.

 

Apparently the newer 2.2 16v 150hp unit in the Signum and Vectra is much better. Torquey and smooth. A 2.2 Signum beckoned once, but I ended up a knobhead S60 wanker instead.
