One of these passed me on the M6 yesterday, I thought good on you getting that old beast out to work. Then I noticed it was on a 67 plate!

They still make them.  You can get one today from your MB dealer:

Take out the PCP from a very reasonable £18k down, and the bill is nudging £102k

You will* have the added benefit of your house price rising exponentially as long as you keep it static displayed on the drive.  Up until those lads from Bradford pinch it in the night and get it sent out the country

I've got a weird thing for the G Class. But the thoughts of buying one, then either

1. sweeping it off the driveway before it's 10th birthday

2. having to fly to Kinshasa every weekend to gather it up in bits, bring it home and rebuild it for Monday's commute

Put me off.

People love the VW Kombi Van, a design icon and bringer of new age hippyness, that sort of jargon right.

Well what if we Kmobined one of them and a caravan...

Even when I was a lad, 1600E orions were the holy grail. Lads had XR2s, 3is, Orion Ghias, but nobody had ever seen a 1600E in the flesh. A few people claimed to have a cousin/uncle/neighbour who had one with an escort turbo engine in and that was basically the best and most adult and respectable car anyone could imagine when I was 15.

This one lived near me, was owned from 2yo, but it got scrapped a couple of years back. So much for old Fords never dying..

Overpriced, unusual southpaw Transit, plus slight racism in the ad

Taking the piss out of the french isn't racism , we've been doing it for 1000 years

Quoted -

"This rare and hitherto ubiquitous car blah blah blah bollocks arse, will catch the attention of serious SD1 owner/ enthusiasts from home and abroad, . . ready to rock n roll.

Factory fitted air con in working order but electrically disconnected only due to loose belts. May need re-gassing".

- Okey dokey, how much, seeing as you can't be arsed doing the aircon (which is in working order, it just doesn't work, that's all it is,) on this hithertu ubiquitous car which will catch the attention of all serious Roverists from home and abroad?

"Twenty One Thousand Pounds Now, As Stated".

Very nice Vitesse but I was expecting maybe £2995. £3995 with room for negotiation. This one must be six or seven times better than they used to be.
