I hate the whole "plate is worth £££££" nonsense

People don't seem to realise the plate MIGHT be worth £££££ to someone with £££££ who happens to want that plate. It's not as if a week on the bay will guarantee it, is it?

My numberplate L894 LWC is worth nothing, however if you want to buy it, it is £50,000!!! This is a bloody unique numberplate and I shall not sell it for anything less. I have spoken with many experts, many of which own J-reg Protons. They all agree, that as I am the son of a banker, it is a bargain and can surely only go up in value. Fuck gold prices, invest in unique number plates.

^ to be fair, it looks unusual in that the wings and wheelarches still exist*, however it's still too much.

* this may be due to wob and tippex, or photoshop.

Also to be fair, if you photographed that in a white room it would just look like you're selling a front bumper and a pair of wheels.

I don't know buses but that Bedford is gorgeous, inside and out.  I was thinking £13,995 doesn't seem bad at all, then I realised there was another 9 in there  .  That's probably quite ambitious.

£23,000, yes twenty three thousand pounds, 2 bids reserve not met.post-17414-0-41981900-1436712487_thumb.jpg

Yes, it's a pretty car,but it's still a Corsair not a Cortina ,and the reason 2 Dr GT Cortinas are so valuable is to use for competition since Lotuses went stratospheric.

Somehow I don't think starting with a bigger, heavier car with identical mechanics is a good recipe for a competitive racing car.

Believed to be one of a kind

Thank god for that, I'd hate to be confronted with another one.

I'm sure it IS very nice but at a glance, could you really tell the difference between that and the other trillion 911s of the same era that are knocking about?

"Ahh but I paid the price of a house for mine..."

"Why?"

"Because I'm a flash git and a terrible person... and frequently burn £20 notes in front of tramps before giving them a swift kicking..."

"Oh, OK. Fair enough. Each to their own, I guess"

Actually includes the phrase 'Great Value!'

$_57.JPG

No, 'Great Value!' is a 1.3kg of broken biscuits, containing no less than 12 Jammy Dodgers (one which was a triple decker!) for £2.76.

£43k for an old Merc, even a nice one like this, is not 'Great Value!'. It's just alot of money.

poor show by that 4* Classics shower - surely they must vet the vehicles that pass though their gleaming white portals? Obviously not.

Recent MR2 that was advertised for 12 grand, before decending slowly to about 6grand. I think it's still on their site.

It wasn't 'showroom condition', the rear arches had body filler. You can tell when plastic is new and when it has been 'back to blacked'.

'Tax Exempt'

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1973-Triumph-TR6-TAX-EXEMPT-/380639391252?hash=item589fe02e14

I'm sure if you could afford to waste 25k on one of these any form of tax would be somewhat of an alien concept, therefore as a selling point, tis moot.

As an aside, my old man used to have one and sold it just after I was born (84). He got rid because he got fed up with people telling him he had to 'look after it & never drive it & keep it wrapped up in cotton wool'. I'm sure many here can see the reason why he got annoyed with that 'logic'...

I had the displeasure of working on one of those once. It was red and therefore fooled everyone.

also "Buick based 3500cc V8" is a masterful bit of spin.
