Talbotman is the winner! I believe it was "top of the tree" when new, and a local model. Gt power with E spec insides.

I bought it with knocking big ends, put an engine in it then sold it a few months later to a chap in Leicester after the propshaft fell apart and I had no desire to fix it.

It was on the front cover of Practical Classics before I bought it!

Know nothing about ringing or shit stirring but that car was awful. There should be some kind of award for `most effort put into a car and stil be incredibly shit`

The panel gaps had to be seen to be believed, but I was young and always wanted a MK3 Cortina and this was all I could afford.

When I tried to sell it the first time, 2 blokes with 2000e owners club jackets came to see it. They didn`t buy it. Didn`t even want it for spares.

I was going to break it has it had 5 speed, pas, 4 branch etc but didn't have the room so had to sell on .this prob explains some of it then as next time I saw it ,it was purple & a cut & shut with the rear half of a sierra P100 some how blended in to the B post , then next it appeared in classic escort with a huge plastic (modern ) front bumper & 4 square headlights coloured bright green & V6 powered.

said to belong to an "expert" in the mk3 club (bought from another member of the club) who allways wanted a pickup one but didn't know real ones existed????

until the other one turned up at the shoot.

last I heard it was in London???

The 4 branch still lives, its currently on a mates Vindicator kit car. I`m amazed the rest hasn`t been scrapped by now though

its poss 5 years ago I was told it was in London, by the sounds of it it was only cab/eng bay that remained of the est.

must admit bloke I got it from was very strange (hard to describe how, not dodgy/angry/nasty) uncooperative/hardwork to deal with.

at that time It was looked on as a banger, looking back he prob saw me as the mug who was guna give him money for it, remember he kept going on about better not be another waster guna offer scrap money (think I gave him £250) was from one of the posher parts of town.

think I ran it a couple of years till eng went (supposed to have been rebuilt) allways had trouble starting it (struggled to turn over/tight) had several new starters but allways the same could never figure it out, once it started would start perfectly unless left allday or overnight.

I can fully imagine that someone would pay that much for it

Surely it isn't the only one in UK.

Golden Sam was 1500 GL on the V5 if I remember right.

That is about as spiteful as motoring gets.

The price is just the final insult.

What is it with these?  I like a bit of 80s Japanese tin as much as the next loser, but these are just shit, aren't they?  They all seem to be up for £2k+: madness.  This one's two and a half.

ONLY 7 OF THESE LEFT ON THE ROAD IN UK

There's four on eBay right now, so I'm calling BOLLOCKS on that one.

Also, epic white room fail you MORON.  I'm really quite cross now.
