Thanks, yeah we've been looking at ex250, Z300 CB300 and the BMW g310.

Right, has anyone got any recommendations for one of those water proof scooter leg shield covers all those commuters in London seem to have, please? Ideally one that A ) stays attached to the scooter B ) you can get your legs out of very quickly when you're about to fall off and C ) suits the budget of a tight fisted fat bastard.

Looking more in the 250-300 range due to weight, she didn't do the test on a 650 as wasn't happy with the weight of it.

She prefers naked to faired type bikes and I'm thinking something modern enough to have fuel injection would be good.

Z400 ridiculously light and easy to ride

Might be an idea to search out your local hot bed of takeaways and ask about - I think that there are different sizes for different bikes but looking at them they all seem much of a muchness really, in fact most of the ped riders seem to be going over to those Super 73 style eBikes now and just using muffs & waterproofs (unhelpful I know)

Yeah this is what she did her test on (we think, sounds like the bike school put 3rd party black plastics on with no stickers), she didn't like the 650 as she dropped it after an emergency stop practice and couldn't pick it up.

So that is the baseline but they have only been out a couple of years so probably more than she wants to spend. Z300 might be in budget though.

I think an EX250 could work, she said she doesn't want a faired bike but its more of a visual thing and some of them are OK depending on colour.

Showed her the KTM 390 which reviews pretty well, doesn't want an orange frame.

So far she also likes the MT03 and Honda Rebel but I think the Rebel might be too heavy.

As with all Trumpets around that time make sure you got a fully charged battery before even attempting to start it, or risk FUBARing the sprag clutch.

Go for it, I love mine! These 1050s don't seem to have sparag issues, if the battery is low, they just don't turn over. I've never had any issues, but people go on about pudding cables and the like..... they just need a good battery,  just like bmws.

 

Oh, check the downpipes . They rot, and are unobtainium for now . Needs a handy and delicate welder..

Usually the starter spins but doesn't turn the engine,  or catches sometimes and then slips.and makes a horrible racket.. or it can just run the starter constantly, also with a horrible racket.. you would know either way!

Just found this pic of chavy 2 on the front of the domi. They never liked riding pillion as couldn't see so always wanted to sit on the front which is better off road as can hold them in on the sketchy shit. When they are given throttle this is especially important as it turns out they are as much of an idiot as their dad. What you can't see in this pic is that their wellies are full of pond. Turns out their instincts were correct as it was deeper than it looked. Over seat height as it turned out. Got through it mind. Great bike that. Game kid too but big mouth. Always got grassed up to ma for wheelies and the like. Great confidence comes from riding in the dirt mimd even as a passenger. Both the kids were always cool and the gang on the road after going up and down mountains .

Last ride of freedom before getting hitched tomorrow . 
Loving this bike . I’ve never ridden a bike so relaxing to ride .Gonna call it the Honda Spa Day .Rear suspension seems a bit lacking but I can’t decide if it’s that or a particularly squishy seat ! I’m used to having to upgrade bike suspension being a fat chuffer .

Nice. Always thought they'd be decent and like the colour too. Good eve for it. Is it rally spec who do a fuckton of bits for these? Just saying like as i know you like the middy stuff. Congrats on the wedding hope you have a great day. 

New ride just returned home. Its slow as fuck and not one for the open road. This may be a good thing as i'm a dick and have a speed awareness course tomorrow. Handles sweet and enjoying ringing its neck on the twisties. Took in a lane or two on way back too. It needs a bit of work to get it how i want it but i'm a happy man. Been on borrowed road bikes for too long was defo worth all the extra hours/scrimping and saving.

It reminded me of my old cg125 on the open road! Great fun spanking it on the twisties mind ill think ill enjoy it  but yeah needs a mindset change. Might keep the r6 now for those days 😂
