I'll lob a battery on it and take it from there.

£17 worth of next day delivery Tayna battery and all the electrics including the electric start work a treat.

Headlamp a bit dim, so the stator might not be throwing out a full 14v - I'll have to check with the test meter. Otherwise its not bad really for a 22 year old moped.

Finally got this running smoothly with the expansion chambers. For the purists these are temporary until I get the original pipes rechromed. Just waiting for the DVLA to send me a registration number and I can take her out for a run.

Heat probably and a BFO hammer, what bike?

You could remove the rear wheel then remove the swing arm with the shock and linkage still attached to give better access, not too difficult if it's on the Divvy in profile avatar.

Any suggestions on how to persuade a bottom bolt out from a rear shock that's still on the swingarm?????????????

Jack up the rear wheel slightly to remove the load from it. The crudded up bolts on my SV needed a lot of attention from the (minimum) 90,000nm lidl impact gun i have to free them off.

I jammed a spanner on the nut end, jammed it up against something convenient and bruted it out with the impact gun like an absolute amateur pro. Your welcome to try your luck with lidls finest if you'd like?

Inspired by @hairnet's travel capers, I've decided to ride up to the Highlands tomorrow - Loch Lomond area on day 1 (450ish miles), then onto Skype.  Already off to a great start by booking a non-refundable hotel room for Sunday next week, rather than tomorrow.

PM me if you'd like a free hotel stay in Balmaha next week (Oak Tree Inn, single room, 1 night).

Didn't know Microsoft's favorite chat program was hidden in the highlands??

The purists problem if they don't like it,  back in the day lots of people were modifying their bikes with different pipes etc. That looks/sounds class.

My Scotland trip ended after an hour - I was prepared for rain but not the biblical downpour I ran into at Oxford, there was so much water on the A34 it was pushing my feet off the pedals, and there was more water on the inside of my visor than outside.  Staying home to replace a toilet instead.

I'm really liking the TT+ coverage, watching it on a firestick.  Not having to tolerate the ITV4 highlights with it's depressing gambling/booze/Viagra adverts is the best bit.

Shame there's no Stavros or Richard nicholls - the suthna bonehead they have now is just zzzzz - their MotoGP is the same they should just use the whole bt coverage - Dave Moore should just do the whole lot

Bring back Craig Doyle and whitham :)

Has anyone on here got a GS550E (or possibly a similar bike)? I've got a full touring style fairing...

gs550e.thumb.jpg.92bc173588039d16d1ad0ce45e01be72.jpg

Now in kit form...

May be an image of tree and outdoors

that is free of charge if anyone can make use of it. Not altogether sure I have any brackets it might have had, but it's in pretty good order and could be fitted straight away.  Top box possibly still here, if so that can go with it if wanted.

Near Chester.

Just taken the GT out for a first proper, legal run. 30 miles and I couldn't stop smiling! Nothing beats the sound of a stroker coming on song, well except a spitfire with a Merlin engine, but anyway I couldn't fault it. Seems to run sweet. Popped to work to park next to our mechanics KH500.

Edit: only downside was getting royally bummed filling up with Esso supreme at £2.06 a litre 😡
