Jim Bergerac Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 There's an American on my college course who had this thing specially imported. Why? They are sold here (as a Toyota) so it's a bit of an effort to get one with a Scion badge and the steering wheel on the wrong side.
AlabamaShrimp Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 He said it because his wife can take drive rhd as she's nerves or something, tbh he's very American and a bit of a dick. They were told they could bring cars by the airforce for free so they did. When it got here though there was tons of tax to pay. If given the choice I don't think he would swap it for a normal Toyota iq
Pillock Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Why does it need an MOT if it is a late 2012 model (assuming it's the correct age related plate)? Is it an import thing? I'd have thought it was more nervy driving LHD in the UK, than RHD even if you are used to the wrong side.
AlabamaShrimp Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 I might be wrong but I think it's older than the plate. Or maybe I'm just being thick again and getting it all mixed up. If it doesn't need one though why does it say it's expired? Edit; no I am being thick as it was registered in October 2013, wouldn't that make it a 63 normally? (for some reason I crap with the new number plates) do still wonder why though if it's not needing an MOT for 3 years as normal why would it say expired?
HillmanImp Posted December 20, 2014 Author Posted December 20, 2014 Does an import have to have an MOT each year regardless of age if its not sold as new by the manufacturer?
NorfolkNWeigh Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 I was diverted, by an accident through the oldest Council Estate in Milton Keynes. It always used to be top hunting ground for chod when I was a teenager, seems not much has changed 30 odd years on.Whiff of pineapple and cat piss. That Corsa has a funny stance to itAh,that explains it. I think this is a Nissan rather than an LDV, I don't think the bonnet being open implies any work happening.Even the new cars have that AS class. This was all from 3 streets, but it was 3pm and I was starting to look suspicious to the heavily tattooed and muscled individuals walking to the school, there were a couple of blokes too. brickwall, Joey spud, Steviemillar and 6 others 9

motormatt Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Sorry for the dire photography skills but I was stuffing a scadding hot steak bake into my gob but I spotted this 4 door MK2 Escort GL in a car park in Durham City. On a 1980 V plate so quite a late one. Had some kind of roll-cage fitted and a sticker on the rear window that read "cos new cars are shit" regd as a 1300cc but I would be surprised if it had something a bit more potent under the bonnet. Also spotted a maroon Dolly sprint hooning past me on the 690. No pictures as unfortunately my hands were full with my can of lager.
Richard Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 I want 4 wheel drive for the snow but what happens if there's a sudden thaw? Step right this way sir... Luckythirteen, Magnificent Rustbucket and HillmanImp 3
steve_earwig Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I'm just going through my pc looking for animal pictures but I've come across a few car pics that I thought I'd dump here to be annoying:: Peglica I spotted while house hunting in 2004, sadly now gone in case anyone was going to rush out here and save it. Scirocco Scala (same colour as the GTX I had). The picture's rather old now but I still see it about. These belonged to a mate of a mate, I really wanted one (these were pre.wife days) but they'd just been sold. Some sort of limited edition? Quick, get the camera out! Meh. Beautiful Citroen Traction Avant spotted in the supermarket car park here (brave). A couple from Rijeka own it, it was on it's way to a show in Austria I think it was. Pug Pars spotted in the way back from GB One of my uncle's XMs, this is a 2.1td slushmatic. The other is a 2.0 turbo estate (which I completely neglected to photograph because I didn't think anyone else would be interested at the time) I believe this is what the call a "tub". This is in the paint shop next to where a mate of mine works, I only caught a glimpse of the finished thing, cost him an arm, a leg and a testicle apparently. I saw this outside a restaurant in the back of beyond. Want want want (wife wife wife ) vulgalour, KruJoe, HillmanImp and 6 others 9
