First R12 I've seen in the wild since about 2002. Looked very clean indeed.

Interesting headrest shape. Did R12s ever come with headrests as an option?

Not really a car spot - but Tesla charging at services on the M6 S. of Preston. First time I'd seen it. Did London -Preston London on a mix of  M1-M6-M62-A1 only one old car spot all day which was an XJS being driven VERY fast on the M1 near Coventy a fantastic sight. Be nice to think it had a JLR connection maybe. It was dark green and was really shifting.

Those are standard tombstone seats fitted to all TS models in the UK.

Those funky alloys would have come from the Boutique range of dealer fitted accessories though.

I spotted this well used looking Flava Flavia in Ayr today. It had a belting painted over tide line. Still nice though.

Nicest bit of shite I saw was a late 3dr Sierra Hatchback. Obviously that was the one time I left my phone in the hotel room.

Whilst I'm here, might as well dispose of some older shite spots:

This is around the corner from my work, think I took the pic last year though:

Spotted this at a clients on Friday (in Normandy, France). The owners are on they're way back from an event in Italy. I thought that was good going in one of these, especially as the driver wasn't shy of pies. He was a big fella..

Love the hand paint job.. I couldn't decide if it was a serious effort or a rat attempt..

The Maestro has been sitting there for ages. I couldn't understand why it was never ticketed but I glanced into the interior the other day and it's silted up with pay and display tickets! Someone must be going out and putting a ticket in it every morning.

Bit weird when there's free on-street parking within half a mile or so.

I hadn't seen the Golf before but they make a nice early '90s pairing - which would you have?

And then this. Just look at the state of the poor thing. Seemingly part of a static display in the reception of a surveyors offices. post-26064-0-01732700-1537191225_thumb.jpgpost-26064-0-31139100-1537191278_thumb.jpgpost-26064-0-36698900-1537191324_thumb.jpg

Pulled in at local motor factors and a lesser spotted Astra saloon was lurking there.

Astra vintage, not Belmont though.

A trio from the Croxley Green Show yesterday.

Tasty looking modded A60. There was some club stand next door which consisted of 75's and ZT's festooned with Halfords chrome lettering, Union Jacks and hilarious* stickers. An MG ROVER- IN A CLASS OF THEIR OWN banner was erected by the Sports Direct tracksuit clad members.

I know that place very well it's ASK motor spares, almost my second home. There's usually something of interest parked outside.

I recently went there for a temp sender unit, they didn't have one in. However I got chatting to a nice chap about old cars, he had a temp sender going spare and some tyres (set of 4 with 50ish miles Marshal 165 14s) he wanted rid of.

When I came out the shop this Stag had parked up next to me, had a chinwag to the owner about old cars for a while.

post-5414-0-76376200-1537215124_thumb.jpg

The chap who gave me the tyres and sender had a lovely 1934 Sunbeam Dawn! I had a poke around it it was very solid.

post-5414-0-49328200-1537215568_thumb.jpg

The Oxford behaved well on a shake down run, apart from getting caught in the rain with no wipers. Now has working temp gauge.

So all in all it was a good day!

Some spots from various times over the last couple of years as I just dumped all the pictures on my phone.  I will rely on Junkman, Jon and other American car experts to correct my howling mistakes in identifying some of these.

post-17664-0-79408100-1537287152_thumb.jpg

'81 Lincoln Continental in my regular parking garage, one of the last with the vacuum operated headlight covers.  Which i didn't get a picture of because I'm an eedjit.

post-17664-0-36577600-1537287450_thumb.jpg

'64 continental at my local alignment place, suicide rear doors, JFK had one just like it.

3.0 CS BMW in downtown Houston, don't know much about these but this one looked pretty clean and elicited much wantage.

post-17664-0-37248900-1537288106_thumb.jpg

An AMC Matador in AS-approved colours spotted in Marfa, Texas.    Christopher Lee had one of these you know...

(Should you ever be in West Texas well meaning people will say 'you must check out Marfa with it's thriving arts scene'.  You should ignore these people as it is shit, a town with two nice old buildings that has been infested by the worst kind of hipsters.)

Actually one of a pair.

post-17664-0-68976300-1537288239_thumb.jpg

A Valiant of some description.  JM?  Think these are pretty much unrelated to the Australian Valiants apart form being Chrysler owned.  Is it me or does this have some echoes of the Jensen CV8?  Possibly, if you squint?

post-17664-0-04332900-1537288394_thumb.jpg

Front.

post-17664-0-68156200-1537288684_thumb.jpg

Another Valiant at the same place, this guy seemed to like buying them in pairs which is a sound strategy i think we can all agree.  Also a Buick LaSabre which I am going to call a '64 but may well be off a year or two.  Available with various V8s up to a 401 and all fitted with a two speed transmission although I suspect this one has something less exalted.

International Scout, just the thing to tow behind you motorhome.

post-17664-0-48325400-1537289011_thumb.jpg

Delicately patina'd (or knackered if you'd prefer) Pontiac Sunbird in Alpine, TX.  GM's J car has to be one of the most widely badge-engineered models ever doesn't it?  Note the excellent camerawork here.

post-17664-0-41739200-1537289147_thumb.jpg

Primrose(?) US market Jag XJ-12 at kid's baseball.  I kept an eye on this hoping that the owner might appear but they remained incognito.

That's all for now but stand by for some hot Brazilian action if i can get the pictures to upload...

OK, as promised some spots from Brazil.

post-17664-0-88143800-1537290669_thumb.jpg

Mercedes doing it's thing, again some fine photography skills here.  Wiki tells me these were built in Argentina up to 1997 before being replaced by the sprinter.

post-17664-0-05665600-1537290743_thumb.jpg

Chevrolet-badged Chevette.  In production up till 1993 apparently.

post-17664-0-21583800-1537291116_thumb.jpg

Two door saloon Escort, a Ford Verona.  Also badged as a VW Apollo.  I have to say the Essex boy in me liked this very much.  I think this has a 1.8 VW engine.  I wanted to ask the owner but my boss was already looking at me strangely so i dragged myself away.

post-17664-0-68545000-1537291166_thumb.jpg

A Brasinca.  Looks like a late eighties F-150/Bronco to me.  OJ Simpson had one of these you know.

post-17664-0-38017300-1537291316_thumb.jpg

Chevrolet 500 Utility in Camping spec.  Pick up Chevette built up to 1994, this one looked sweet.

post-17664-0-04502500-1537291443_thumb.jpg

Finally, shitest of the lot has to be this Ford-badged Santana in yellow with matching interior.  I am fairly convinced that this is factory which is just awesome.  Is that a Mk1 Mondeo grille?  The Brazilian and Argentine subsidiaries of Ford and VW merged in 1987 giving the world several prime bits of shite like this.

Brazil is shite spotters heaven, there are so many oddities lurking on every street.
