That's not a bad haul for what looks like a private collection. I'd put money on the Strada, or Ritmo, being the rarest of them all too.

Crap picture but a rare 1981 Nissan Cherry (N10?) coupe on an industrial estate on the isle of Sheppey.

Breadman?

Don’t think so. According to PH he’s moved jobs.

When I used to go to the various Chambers there, I remember one Counsel used to park his black DS (DS21, I think) in the car spaces facing King's Bench Walk.

This Espace impressed me today, S type wheels fit an Espace, who knew? I particularly like the tailgate window and side repeater replacements.

Also one I forgot to post from the Isle of Rust.2d88c8783a9588d5caf048437a50696f.jpg7085173b8ebf1db333c25f8aae5467c9.jpg98facdec47f7a9d0674538d6f8ddc4db.jpg

And I wish I'd got that sign in about drivers to airports etc...

Where in Hatch End? I was there yesterday, in the motor supplies shop on the high street....

This is not just any old MGB GT in a naff colour, it's a MGB GT V8 in a naff colour.

Think it might be Wellington Road. The first road on the left after the parade of shops as your driving towards Pinned. The Rover and the Passat were there.

Aha. I parked a couple of streets before that, where Hatch End Motors, the MoT place, is.

Clean-looking Scirocco, mixing it with the commuter traffic in central Belfast this morning.

post-17915-0-99186500-1523527716_thumb.jpg

Oddly, running a DLVA check on the plate AAZ10 brings up that its first registration date was May 1990. But AAZ is a Belfast-issued series that replaced the *XI plates from 1993 on (I owned AAZ1248, also a red VW as it happens).

Now, my understanding is that cherished plates can't be assigned to a car to make it look newer than it actually is - although it is (or was?) perfectly legal to bring a GB plated car over to Northern Ireland and re-register it with a current NI series plate (I was offered a grim 'new' UEZ series plate when re-registering my Cortina estate with DVLNI, after bringing it back over from Glasgow - which I declined).

So I'm wondering whether this Scirocco just so happened to get AAZ10 at the DVLNI office as the next plate in the current series as the luck of the draw - but I'm pretty sure that all the lowball and otherwise 'tasty' NI numbers have long since been cherry-picked at source and sold on at auction, and so never see general issue.

Kinda irrelevant, I know, but the kind of shiz that keeps my head running at 5000rpm all day.

The DVLA actually list some of the more desirable NI plates on their site now, they change the list once a month , I think. There doesn't seem to be any age limits on what you can put them on, so maybe the old not making a car look newer than it is doesn't apply to NI numbers ( because so few people would know?) .
