A couple of central London spots recently... the Citroen was in Southend but not great quality as snapped from inside the car using a camera phone.

Didn't have a camera with me unfortunately, but on Saturday I spotted a Mk2 Cavalier - IN BEIGE - at Highley station on the Severn Valley Railway.

Some nice spots from Saturday...

Volvo was very clean. Ex GB car, with the original B-reg plate stencilled onto the windows (and which I now can't remember, obviously). Black dash with dark blue seats, and autobox for effortless waftage.

But this was what really gave me a Looney Tunes moment:

Hoo boy. Original ROI Series 1 injection example, and pretty much spotless.

9-5 parked up at the Prolemarket.

A very early un, getting thin on the ground unless they're an OMGAEROHOT.

Traveling at the mo...

Who knew that this company still exists! Alive and well and selling in China apparently!

Not seen much of interest today. Off to the land of Volvos and square sausage next week though, so things should improve.

They've only just started production, after the Chinese bought a controlling stake. Possibility that Borgward might start selling RHD in Britain by 2025 but they're going to have to invest heavily in hybrid and full-electric if they're going to avoid being a flash in the pan here.

Not sure SUVs are the way to go though - I'm already having difficulty reconciling the name Borgward, knowing its history, and bloated 21st century 4WD lumps. I'd have thought they would try to make more ordinary cars, just like the original company did.

China seems to be full of hybrids, electric, methanol and gas transport.

Seems like everyone wants an SUV here too, so I’m not surprised the first Borg car is an SUV.

You will be assimilated! ?

Impressive rot on that mini!

Normal from 1959 to 2000. Usually takes 5 years from new to get that bad.

Ha! All of about 100 bhp :)

Cannot remember the last time I saw a Saxo, let alone one in the best colour they ever came in!

That colour is probably the front runner if I can ever justify spending the money to have the Activa resprayed.  It's either that or proper Ferrari red (well, BX GTi red actually as my OCD would insist on it being a Citroen colour)...but that deep yellow is such a great colour.

Remember we had a Saxo West Coast in that colour, a Seat Ibiza Cupra in lime green and a 306 GTi-6 in that gorgeous metallic copper lined up next to each other between the two workshop doors right out front of the garage.  Was a contrast that could detach retinas from 500 yards.  Seem to recall we had something pretty bright flanking them between the workshop and wash bag on one side me the office on the other too... can't mind what though.

Few spots from a small display yesterday.

The Merc was an F1 Pace Car early on its life apparently.ca4698579c80d438899fd3651d7d9a30.jpg5c54fde7e26eecb3900f822b8236636a.jpg5ab33578f458ab29b9a4fbfd1c3a31c4.jpg07a185c67c99b1d7fc2fbd5ba5b7b910.jpg

Zel, I think your Xantia would look AMAZING in this colour! I can’t wait to see it! (Even if it’s waiting a decade) I love cars that are in entirely inappropriate colours, they always look 100x better than the standard brochure colours.

I’d have loved too to have seen those 3 parked together, there’s not enough colour in cars anymore.

Two very different applications of “white and boxy”. Undecided on which I prefer.

Spotted this earlier diving locally, I can't remember the last time I saw one and it looked clean, excitement levels were high so I gave chase. After a 16 mile detour the driver finally turned into a drive, I asked him for a pic and fairly predictably he started telling me all about the car.

It's a 1970 S.A. car, imported in '76, hence the plate. It looks in good condition and has a raft of gen-u-wine giffer mods, including electric power steering controlled with a program knob from a washing machine and a length of thick old school flex under the bonnet with the three cores twisted together, one end is attached to an earth and the other is attached to a crocodile clip, 'just in case he needs to jump start it'.

It's column change, which keeps the floor in the front flat, the seats were like armchairs and the cooling fan housing was a lovely one piece casting.

Defo worth the massive detour!

Scientific conference takes me to Lipari. Besides the gorgeous natural beauty there is the opportunity for some prime chod spotting. The bread and butter of the island seems to be  delightfully shonky Fiat Pandas, but more interestingly I have spotted like 5 Citroen Meharis already.

SIXTEEN miles! That's dedication. Either that, or the fella led ye a merry dance after realising he was being followed.......
