But this afternoon's Shabbat walkround gave us all of these kosher finds:

Come to little Tel Aviv, where this particular (Dutch-registered) car has been living for the last couple of months.

Spotted this outside a garage. I was making a delivery next door so thought I'd get a photo.

The owner of said garage noticed me taking photo's of the carina and asked me if id like to see his old volvo he'd acquired. I must admit i'd never seen one of these before, its had one previous owner and was purchased in 1982. The owner says it will be restored.

Here's a few more from Munich and the surrounding area from the last couple of days (got home this morning). 20190710151315_IMG_7636.thumb.JPG.0d6b7cfa44fe1077ce60d2e40d9267a9.JPG20190710131522_IMG_7625.thumb.JPG.c713966b77b0fe2e8fd810dfbef52f5e.JPG20190709180053_IMG_7601.thumb.JPG.46285cc7f627fd0b8a8c7a1ea9bfe80c.JPGIMG_20190711_224316.thumb.jpg.27ac454f258ded4f5fdcff9b981946a8.jpg20190709083527_IMG_7556.thumb.JPG.37f360fd13a6a3e6d244ece75a77bd5f.JPG

The Merc had a bodyside that looked liked it was made of crisp packets and hand painted matt silver. 20190710082043_IMG_7602.thumb.JPG.c492f608d1e69acf259c476c4cf8cb3e.JPG20190709084536_IMG_7558.thumb.JPG.36606ac62c82cffd8f380f387e4c5dd5.JPG20190709084618_IMG_7559.thumb.JPG.351f471c37499c9fe19cb19888fd5675.JPG

These were in Mittenwald near the Austrian border. Lovely place, took the train from Munich, a trip I can fully recommend. We're 3000ft above sea level here and still the mountains tower over the place.

20190709102225_IMG_7574.thumb.JPG.d236874a34751f51dc01d58134933826.JPGThis looks standard but the rear wheels are wider and with a bit of camber. Subtle. The two door Land Cruiser must be a bit of a rarity too.

This was buzzing round the town, saw it a couple of times. 20190709110015_IMG_7585.thumb.JPG.657cf861a1930d43b0f5ef2e1a1fdc92.JPGbut I love this:20190709110029_IMG_7586.thumb.JPG.cd9af1bf6f3f965ac1cb9bd67eb9e1ce.JPGThe woman was trying to help her husband get this barge (not even sure what it is - new Omega?) into the same size space the 500 was in. The contrast is fabulous isn't it?

Shame about the wheels, but it has got a V8 under the bulging bonnet.

A few I've seen lately. Didn't get one of a D reg maroon Scrote estate

that came alongside at the lights and asked what mine was.

Nice bit of gafferage on the Merc and I never knew there was a Toyota Voxy.

Bloody hell! That is a full load of old tat, and the skip bin needs emptying too.

Nice shape, the first A4, looking good here as a 1.6 basic and an actual colour.

The Acclaim was at a horse show in Abergavenny, last owner 14 years, and it was a real credit to him too. In CD spec with Triomatic ( a 3 speed + torque converter autobox that cannot change gear itself, the driver has to make all the decisions about which ratio to use.)

Clutchless manual, then. Just like the Ro80.

Not like an Ro80 ( or a C-Matic Citroen) at all actually.

Downstream of it's torque converter the NSU has a clutch and conventional 3 speed manual gearbox but the HondaMatic / Triomatic has all the makings of a true autobox, selecting the ratios with solenoid operated valves operating various clutch packs just like Honda's full automatic transmissions. The gear selector is just a numb T bar.

Not one of my spots but from a local Facebook group. Never knew they did a 2 door!

Neither did I!

Wikipedia reckons this would be a Dacia 1410 Sport . Looks a bit like what the Japanese might have built in the 1970s to widen the variety of grey porridge - there's something quite Datsun-ish about the overall look of the thing.

That's spot of the year isn't it? So somebody else has driven a Dacia back from Romania and gone to the trouble of reregistering it. Brilliant.

The coupe was a Romanian only version, I don't think Renault did one.

EDIT: I don't think it's been here long. MOT'd in May this year, that's the only MOT that shows up. It passed with no advises and has only done 59,000km (about 36,000 miles?). Surely we need to find these people.

Doesn't look bad, especially side profile. Front grille and headlights look a bit artificial; Google Images show the original grille, lights and chrome bumper to be much neater. A Gordini engine in that would be a gas.

Yeah, looks better with all the tat removed. 77b05860da595eef3e18141159737a7e.jpg.28abc4cd27a182efca5634e126c00b11.jpgThough I think the green one has a standard face-lift grille but it would normally be black. Still would though.

So these two are for hire? Brilliant. IMG_20190718_135907.thumb.jpg.8a202167f25c50c89f50d9874d537d7e.jpg.49783c2b05ec94cb6e2666503239a417.jpgThat Honda is exactly the sort of car I want to hire on holiday. Something you don't need to worry about. Not the three day old Peugeot 208 I was given in Zagreb that I couldn't relax in at all for fear of putting the slightest mark on it.

I’ve got my own spotting thread somewhere but I can’t be arsed to find it, which must qualify me as a lazy spotter.

Here’s a few recents.

NSU Prinz TT at Silverstone. Took well over an hour to get out of that car park, so full marks for doing it in a 48 year old air cooled hot hatch*.

(I gave the driver a thumbs up but he just gave me a deadeye stare. Bloody Audi drivers.)

Bahama Beige is for winners. Not diggin’ the wheels though.

Hotted up 68(?) Chevy Nova. There was some sort of meet as there were a couple of other rods’n’sods around, but no other pics (Mrs S was on photo duties while I was driving) and anyway this was the most interesting.

DVLA suggests this is a replica but a good one. Looked great.

Finally, Ealing continues to be one great safari park of chod.  This cute Nova SRi looked pleasingly unmessed with.
