Sweet....with a little bit of bodywork fettling along the sills and rear arches that's gonna be a peachy daily driver.

It looks like a fairly honest car and description, fingers crossed theres no major surprises.

Surely these can't be too far off the osf scene tax, so it should be a reasonable investment as well.

That's glorious!

I think it's taken fifteen years or so of not seeing them every day to realise how nicely styled these were in Estate flavour. Exceptionally original, too. At first glance I thought that Sharp rad/cass was a Ford RST21p unit.

Enjoy as is, or OMGDRIFTetc.

WHOOSH! That's SRSLY fit, top work. 'Y' Reg must be one of the last as well.

Looks a lot of metal for the money. Should shape up into a very smart motor :)

That looks straight and honest and doesnt have corrosion around the windscreen!

Forgot how huge the load area was on these, Fatha_L had 2, back in the day.

Enjoy! :D

Fantastic looking old 'Tina estate. I remember when you couldn't move for these things on Britain's roads. :D

You can't really lose on that motor, cheaper than a cheap estate and getting rare as a thing thats really really rare as well,

Could almost be suitable for a remake of Shoestring if Trevor Eve is short of work maybe.

Looks like a good one........however unleaded 1600's are like hens teeth even in Sierras, I'll pm you the codes and their location to check that it is unleaded later on tomorrow.

Love that 8)

Imagine it in baby blue and in 1981 with poppa and mutha thestag up front, three little thestags rolling around the back seat and a farting collie cross called Dave in the boot. we would all on our way to a tragically grey holiday chalet on a windswept cliff side for a week of damp weather. But did we care? Not a jot :D

I must say, that does look in good order for the money.

A few pennies well spent would see that right for another few years, I'm sure.

Well done great buy, sort of thing i could of done with for a short time runner :)

Cool! I have a soft spot for the old Mk5 Estate. Had a 2.0 Crusader estate AVR 49Y I think it was. Blue with silver pinstripes. Dead tidy it was, cost pennies because it had 130,000 miles on it. Sold for a rather tidy profit not long after, it was about the only Cortina I ever bought that didn't need the axle void bushes doing.

They're great.

I saw that on ebay and thought it looked to have an interesting history, as skattrd said it looks like an honest description (especially as he's a dealer they either tend to say nothing about the car or over sell it). A steal at that price and with MOT.

Excellent. Put an old roofrack on it and paint one of the wings in black primer for that 1993 look.

That's mega. I definitely need to get another Cortina in 2013 given the world doesn't end this month.

After an overview of the Estate M'Lud...we find that that u can have your CKE and eat it.... :D

Very nice, Mrs Trigger last week pointed that Cortina out to me commenting that would make a nice daily for me, If she thought it was good then it must be! It's well worth the money and with a small amount of fretting you'd have a mint looking car there.

Also sign up to BSE like the other have said, there's lots of advice and spares being posted on there which is one thing you need driving a Cortina!.

Bejaysus, I haven't seen one of them for at least 20 years. Even back then they were all polished up to a fine Pog- finish sheen. This one looks like it's actually in pretty good condition. I've only had a ride in one and it was when I was about 5 in the 1980's on the hills in Hastings, beigey-greeny-brown and in need of a T-Cut. All I remember is it was enormous, it bowled around and it stank of petrol inside. W1n. In fact, scrub that, it's w9n.
