Mrs Concern has had most of Corgi GS13 Pug 505 TDF for over a year now and we finally spotted the last missing piece on ebay the other day which was the second place in the sprint cyclist wearing a white jersey

IMG_4693.JPG.9c9334ed97ef732b0625f70bbf7c8c69.JPG

The box and the manager with a megaphone are not pictured, but we have them

I have continued to work on the parts needed for the Martoys 127, Gama 3 Series and Politoys Innocenti 1100

IMG_4696.JPG.6d51300687299e2d0f5d8ca3d41057ae.JPG

I've also spent some time cleaning up the 127, but here it is before that happened

IMG_4692.JPG.360558b7617405de149596c13ec887bf.JPG

I have made a rear window too and it is attached in these pics, but not noticeable!

IMG_4690.JPG.1e4cfaaf3258164d1f75d77cdee2bd0b.JPG

I also need to make a steering wheel and gear lever

Not been to any toy fairs for some time, but went to Ford market this morning

IMG_4707.JPG.c89fd9a3770c64904cf41e037f9dc7d7.JPG

Some general shite was purchased and it was nice to see my favourite seller form the toy fairs as he's been absent from them for a while, shame he didn't have hardly any die cast with him today, but he did give me the Zlymex Toyota (I only really want the wheels so shout if you want to save it) and the Dinky glider trailer in nice condition apart from missing tow hitch! Also does anyone know what the skip belongs to? I did wonder if it was what @danthecapriman needed?

IMG_4708.JPG.224e1f1ff3773aaa1ce8d50337359af0.JPG

The best thing was these two innocuous looking objects that were dumped on the ground with a load of other shite and I bought for £5 along with the skip, Corgi Firebird, Corgi Merc and Matchbox trailer.

IMG_4709.JPG.13153313c00215bff3801bb3bcafd540.JPG

I recognised them as genuine Corgi ramp/tailboards for the Tri Deck Transporter!

IMG_4710.JPG.f12c4a32be6794d2258f6278138234e8.JPG

I have two of these transporters and both have a Steve Flowers repro, one painted white and one still fresh in its bag.

I’m not sure what the skip comes from. Definitely not the Dinky Supertoys Albion. It actually looks a bit older than that to me with those wire type hangers. Could it be from one of the French Dinky skip trucks?

Dinky ones look like this one.

IMG_9375.jpeg.e236c8fc92bb3e748bee3e7bf96c2f60.jpeg

Nice selection there regardless. If you need any of the brushes and bits for that Dinky D800 road sweeper I’ve got one here you can have everything from if you want. It’s a later one with the doors cast shut which I only need the cab off but the chassis and sweeper parts are all the same.

Some charity shop finds the other day...

100_3396.JPG.db98a73d60d0fb8507de720ac13265fd.JPG

Big red thing was £1, the rest 50p each.  These may seem a bit of an unusual choice for me!

Campbell Bluebird: there's a 1/1 replica in the Lakeland Motor Museum, so I had to have that, especially in such nice condition.  The other record car just sort of came along for company, again because of condition.  The others, mostly I was looking at them as chassis donors for my long-term Gerry Anderson Century 21 background action-vehicle project.  If you see anything you'd like before I start dismantling, shout up; I'm keeping the Bluebird though.

Matchbox Powertrack Lane Changer Porsche bottom left. I wonder… are you keeping all your Powertrack cars?

Not common finds those Politoys, especially the top left McLaren Serenissima, I would love to have found that

But crikey! a Hubley,  how did that get here…  made in USA.  I think it’s supposed to be a model of the Grumman Wildcat but not sure. If it says Hubley Gabriel underneath it’s 1970 onwards.

Pressed steel?  It’s off one of those Mini-Sanson by Rico. Made in Spain early 1970s, they had a link with Tonka.

Results of this weekend exploits.

As per usual, searches of the actual toy "super"stores produced nothing  but the usual blistering disappointment. So it was up to the supermarkets again to keep the diecast end up.

Tesco had put some more of the new-ish  Matchbox stock out.

IMG_20260503_084756.jpg.9ef0009d7953ee3be06162df33e4a6a5.jpg

Not usually into supercars (though I did enjoy punting a McLaren 720S around a racetrack on a supercar experience recently). This one:s nicely done though, with some great front and rear detail.

Another lofty pick-up. I think this one's nicer looking than the 80's style Chevy.

They had also had a restock of the Hot Wheels XL. The new mix isnt exactly a classic selection, but I was after the Toyota AE86,.

Aldi had had a restock as well, with the first sniff of F case around these parts. There were a few more I could have come away with, but the need to balance actual food shopping against diecast spending meant I took these for now,

Right, so after my visit to Erdington today, I was shown a place that recycles all sorts. They have their own little warehouse and its like a big charity shop.

What I came away was with a 1/18 Elise by Chrono. I don't think I've ever heard of them but at £9 for the car and original (if slightly wrecked) box, I couldn't say no. Particularly as similar models but in better boxes are selling between £35 and £55.

20260503_155201.jpg.75b31823fc748d5a13e5fab0d7406fc1.jpg

The plastic has badly come away from the box, I've tried some contact glue but I'm doubtful it'll work effectively. The box itself was so dusty on the outside, I needed to vacuum the top.

The car, out of it's box:

20260503_155452.jpg.0cdf64013045d869c26f7807250b1f20.jpg

The car hasn't fared much better inside the box than had it been stored outside. The paintwork looked greasy. If you look closely, you'll see the steering wheel sitting on the dash.

So, the first thing was get the steering glued back into where it should be;

20260503_160507.jpg.779b7390b9f396d95e323a5b546e76ab.jpg

Next, was to clean up the mess of paintwork.

Also, numberplates. I fricking HAT it when they're on the piss or just generally don't look right. This one, for some reason, is white:

Washed the car and polished the paintwork:

You'll noticed in the background, my attempt at repairing the box. By hammering it over a smaller box

Picked up this Majorette Renault 25 at the car boot among some other bits on Saturday as it wasn't one I recalled seeing before. Looking at eBay, it's pretty sought after.

What I came away was with a 1/18 Elise but Chrono.

Great buy! I've fancied one of those for ages, but they go for much more than £9 on eBay.

My Chrono Triumph Spitfire (later re-released by SunStar) has, bizzarely, a pull-back motor. I'd be willing to bet the Elise does, too.

Only found two of those, this mint version

Majorette 222 Renault 25

And this, kept really just for the terrible casting error on the door

I was lucky to pick up a MIB example at a toy fair some years ago, same minty colour in a twin-pack with an inflatable boat on a trailer. The colour is very bright!

I still have my Majorette Renault 25 in dark blue. It was bought for me when I was about 6 (I'm now 43) by Uncle and his wife who were visiting England from Belgium. I remember Fatha_Sterling driving me and him down to London Victoria station to pick up Uncle. When I got home, Uncle and his wife have me the Renault 25 and a Matchbox (?) Esso tanker. I don't know what happened to the Esso tanker but the 25 is still here with me somewhere.

Tried a different boot sale early this morning, must have been two who rows of sellers. Back to Boreham and got a load of stuff, mostly tatty Matchbox and Corgi at 5p each! Some were less cheap however

Over autumn and winter I'd been chucking all the latest acquisitions into a box in the garage, to be sorted at some time. With it being warmer out there now that time has finally come:

This was from last week, most of it has now found a home apart from Datsun/Nissan and the majority of the Toyota stuff. have started on the latter, but ended up trying several different boxes just to house the Land Cruisers and at that point I gave up. Hopefully I can make good use of this Bank Holiday Monday to make a bit more progress.
