That FX4 is the original Corgi casting back from when the real vehicle was launched, 1959 I think? Hence no opening bits. I presume thats an immediately pre-1/36 scale release, last of the line perhaps?  I've got a boxed one that I inherited from my uncle in the early 1980s. You can tell its old as it depicts the small rear light clusters that the early ones had. Later ones had units similar to MK2 ADO16s (maybe they were the same part?)

Few finds this week, 3 more of these from ASDA. I wasn't planning on collecting the full set but I think I'm missing 3. 20260424_231701.jpg.97d3d7b8ef515894bbd5f52806e77db2.jpg

Red base? Weird

Matchbox Superfast 21 Renault 5TL

I know right?

Thought it was a Brazil Manananananaus release at first but in trying to read the base on the potato cam images, can see England. Body is pretty smoked but the base appears in better condition, I remain sceptical until it comes through the door.

An arrival from earlier this week,

Solido are doing some nice stuff at the moment. A lot of it is modern highly tuned stuff from the likes of Audi, BMW, Nissan, Toyota, etc. But there are also quite a few nice, factory-ish spec '80s and '90s subjects too. This Mk3 Golf casting is new for 2026 and there are two versions of the VR6, one in Dragon Green and this one in the brilliant Dusty Mauve pearl.

IMG_20260420_010418.jpg.175a524934b6fa1f0aafac911d861a20.jpg

The Solido range is (relatively) bargain basement compared to a lot of 1/43 stuff nowadays, but it's pretty well detailed and finished.

IMG_20260420_010755.jpg.8c485a598cdd63a0b816e052db865139.jpg

The Mk3 was covered fairly well in period but theee arent many modern releases especially the sporty variants.

I think the Polistil 1303 is great and the hinges are the best thing haha! Your post has reminded me I need to repair the one I got recently,

The Corgi Whizzwheels R16 is not very common at all in my experience, I have several of the older cast wheel version, but only got my first Whizzwheels one a few weeks ago.

I have quite a good collection of trailers, but I don't think I have that Solido one, a good find!

Marina.
Did this as one that someone had near where I used to live. Eventually it got painted dark green by brush using leftover garage door paint!
Tried a different method for texture on the vinyl roof but it didn’t look as good as my usual masking tape jobs.

Another smashed Dinky Bedford TK donated its cab to become a small refrigerator truck.
Drilled the headlights out and fitted jewels in place of the cast originals. Loads still to do here.

IMG_9443.jpeg.619308d60f197794e5bb087fc8479df9.jpeg

This one’s taking ages!

It started off as a partwork Scania 141 V8 with a box body for Interflora flowers or something. I’ve got quite a few 141 and 111 models now so decided to make one of the very similar but smaller versions (80, 81, 85, 86 etc).

They look very similar but the cabs are different enough to be noticeable and a pain in the arse to alter!
The 141 donor comes as a sleeper cab which most of the smaller models were only day cabs so it had the back cut off, a lump cut out and re attached to the front.
They’re also lower so I had to cut it in half the other way and remove about 2mm of the bodywork all around from between the wheel arch top and door handle then re attach them together.

IMG_9441.jpeg.9b63f3844a725c583fd9302e48ffe4df.jpeg

You can see the difference here with another 141 model I’ve got.
I’ve also had to cut the grill down and alter the front bumper as they are different too.

The two Scammell Routeman trucks and Leyland Lynx artic are having the glazing made and fitted which is taking ages, and definitely not a job I enjoy!

Taken an age to do. Glazing was an absolute twat too.

Lada Riva.
Ex Bond partwork model.

Marina.
Did this as one that someone had near where I used to live. Eventually it got painted dark green by brush using leftover garage door paint!
Tried a different method for texture on the vinyl roof but it didn’t look as good as my usual masking tape jobs.

Dodge Challenger Vanishing Point car.
Ex partwork model resprayed. Wheels replaced for Rallye style ones like the film car.
Dodge Coronet.
Ex taxi’s partwork model resprayed.

Another smashed Dinky Bedford TK donated its cab to become a small refrigerator truck.
Drilled the headlights out and fitted jewels in place of the cast originals. Loads still to do here.

I wish I had a workstation like that!

I have to use the kitchen worktop 🤦🏼‍♂️

Gotta do what you gotta do. I used to use the kitchen worktop at my old flat, and paint outside - or even in the stairwell if the weather was crap, a bit naughty really.

I do like having my little outhouse to work in, although it gets a bit cramped sometimes as it ends up being the "doesn't belong in the house" room, so I share it with cat litter and other random bits. Must get the sink plumbed in, then I won't need the kitchen at all

I currently share a desk in my daughters playroom (which was the garage until we converted it just before covid) to use as a workstation. My daughter is 9 years old, so she doesnt use it too much yet. I have used the coffee table before, but that's not a comfortable height to work at for any length of time.

When I lived with my ex we had a 2 bed house, so I got an old office / computer desk & used it as a workstation, we also had a large Keter plastic garden shed that I used as a spray booth.

All your projects look awesome @danthecapriman, you have some real skills there, but the Transit is something else, that's superb!

Do you sell any of your models, or do commission works?

Not a lot to write home about from the boot sales, there's one guy on a Saturday who gets most of my cash.

This one was actually a Vinted buy, I do have a boxed Max Wax Corgi 1200 but it's got a pretty knackered box. I still think it's amazing that a 60s casting was being knocked out at the turn of the century, when did they finally stop?

Here's that big police Porker, a bit too big for my collection really but I couldn't resist. It's a bit odd as it's clearly designed to be either a remote control or at least bump and go car, but there are no innards, no battery connections, lights, speaker, nothing!

Had some success myself this morning at the bootsale too. This fabulous Corgi 5 is pretty minty so I swapped a crisp £5 for it, I’m quite taken with it. Its that mint the roof has a reflection of my garden in it!

Next up is a rubber Golf cabrio, a Welly MINI Paceman which I was pleased with - only a couple of quid and is a pretty smart little model, very well cast. and finally one of these little matchbox “pegwarmers” 😉 which is awful but fabulous at the same time! I think its a street sweeper, the little brushes slide in and out and the front scoop tucks back away too.

IMG_4647.jpeg.94f5056e5f7b9ef254d6326c85a94505.jpeg

Next up was a  two for a pound bargain, though both looked a little battered and  obviously a child had been enjoying these as toys 😬😂 so here a before….

Now these AHC Dutch models are quite unusual, yet today there a page full of them 😆

IMG_4646.jpeg.25dddf521f26c19bbdefd72f4b1eab8e.jpeg

Both the Gama Mondeo and the AHC Ibiza are both missing the tailgate glazing, and the Ibiza has no tailights, but bar a few chips and a scuffed bonnet on the Mondeo, they both scrubbed up nicely well worth half hour and 50p a go 👍 Opening doors and tailgate are nice features. The specific wheel trims on both are fabulous.
